The hotel

Big by SoHo standards, the 46 story hotel offers views, a very happening bar scene, a spa and great dining, so posing the dilemma, to stay in or to go out? Three words distinguish the 391 rooms and suites. Space. Glass. And Fendi. An average of 500 square feet guestrooms offer a lot of space and all the rooms have floor to ceiling windows. They are also the first rooms in Manhattan to have been furnished by Fendi, better known for their handbags. You'll find an exclusive oasis at the terrace on 7, where you can soak up the sunshine and take a dip in the pool, accompanied by panoramic views of Manhattan and modern Hawaiian cuisine. If that's not enough, there is also The Babor Signature Spa, where you can put your resort credit voucher towards a unique Moroccan Hamman experience or a healthy glow facial.

Definitely the best hotel in NY for those who like sophistication in Soho. Whenever I go to NY I stay at the hotel. It is a luxurious hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms and quality service. My favorite room is 1506. And it also has a beautiful pool, which is rare in NY. Near the hotel is the Soho neighborhood with everything you need, which… Read more

Gabby at the front desk is an absolute legend. She made my check in process amazing. She went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and in a world of declining service, she is an example on how to make a customer into a loyal guest. From here on out when I’m in New York City I’m staying here.

One of the worst hotel experiences! 5 star? More like no star! I always stay at the same hotels in SOHO but wanted to try this one and am very disappointed. First off, the front desk staff was incredibly rude. The only nice workers were the doormen. The front desk staff had so much attitude and were disgustingly rude on 3 separate occasions with different members of my party. On one occasion they even scoffed and rolled their eyes at me when I nicely asked a question. The team at this hotel needs to retrain staff on the concept of hospitality and possibly rehire their entire front desk team. I understand one time, someone can be in a bad mood or having a hard day but this his the hospitality industry, they should be better and it should not have happened at every interaction with the staff. Furthermore, the day we checked in we had no body wash in the shower. The tube was empty. We called and asked for more and the cleaning crew did not check it to add more as we had to go three more days (continually asking) till they finally refilled it. Talk about not being able to do your job!!! Also be prepared to take 15 min plus for your shower to get warm. I almost missed an important dinner because they shower took so long and when I called to ask they said it was normal it could take 20+ plus to get hot water. That is not a 5 star hotel treatment. Sounds more like a hotel if you ask me. Honestly surprised by this hotel. It ruined my experience in NYC and I hope people take this review seriously because I never review unless the experience is so bad that I feel I need to warn potential customers. Read less

We had a fantastic experience at this lovely soho hotel. The location is so convenient and close to everything, including the subway lines. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided quality service during our stay. We booked through Amex FHR and got to take advantage of all the amenities. At check-in, we received an upgrade to a SoHi room. The view of the Hudson river from the full wall of windows was absolutely stunning. The room itself was lovely: comfy bed, classic nespresso machine, and a digital service tablet (loved that you could request/order everything easily without waiting on the phone). The bathroom was large, with a deep soaking tub, glass rain shower, plush robes, and a private toilet space. The minibar very well stocked with high-end items, but the prices were also quite steep. If you need fridge space for personal items, its best to request a separate one at no fee to avoid accidental minibar charges. My only challenge here was the very strong perfume fragrance of the soaps, lotions, and elevator. I'm sensitive to strong scents and it was too much for me. Would have loved a fresher/less intense option so we could have enjoyed them. Read less
