The hotel

You may be in the heart of NYC but you’ll enjoy peace and quiet in a W hotel room. Head to The Living Room, complete with DJs and an extensive drinks list! The hotel’s Blue Fin Restaurant is also highly recommended, and comes complete with a sushi bar. If that's not enough, there's Dos Caminos serving Mexican fare, and a margarita bar! Directly facing the bright lights of Broadway, a dramatic, floating, stainless steel staircase leads the way to a semi-private alcove dining area where guests can kick-back and listen to the music of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Dizzy Gillespie. A wonderful place to stay for couples, friends and family, you’ll also enjoy the W’s famous Whatever/Whenever service – nothing is too much trouble for the staff, all you have to do is ask!

Our experience at W New York – Times Square was disappointing, especially given the high expectations associated with the W brand. 1. Poor Service: Whenever we requested something from housekeeping, it took three follow-ups to get a response. The staff consistently cited being understaffed as an excuse for the delay, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. 2. Small and Low-Quality Rooms: The room was extremely small, and the quality felt far below the standard we’ve experienced at W Hotels in other countries. It felt more like a budget accommodation than a luxury hotel. 3. Noisy Environment: The rooms were not soundproof, and we could hear people talking and walking in the corridors very clearly, making it hard to relax or sleep. 4. Tiny Bathroom: The bathroom was uncomfortably small, and there were loud water noises at night, adding to the discomfort. 5. Lack of Assistance: Upon arrival, there was no one to assist with our luggage, leaving us to manage everything on our own. This lack of basic hospitality was shocking. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations, and we would not recommend this hotel, especially given the high cost and reputation of the W brand 6. Breakfast - they have no dedicated restaurant and the mexican they have which offers breakfast the menu is very very poor 7. Found charges later that were never mentioned during check in and had benefits associated with the charges that were never given or mentioned Read less

We love the location of this hotel and the staff at the front desk have always been helpful. The rooms are always clean and the beds comfortable. Was not happy that we rarely get upgraded even with Titanium status. This is always a frustration because the hotel always says they are completely booked.

Is my tenth W hotel I have ever been and was not worth its price. You Pay for a luxurious brand but the rooms and service are not so lux at all. I prepaid the hotel and I thought on the check in I have no more extra costs. But not, the hotel policy is you have to pay for each day extra 30USD to be able to have free wifi, have a trip organised by them to Statue of Liberty, and spend the 30usd to their living room bar. Hotels with 2-3 stars offer free wifi and w ask u to pay for that. REDICULOUS. I also don’t drink alcohol why am I obligated to pay the 30usd. They force the guests to pay that so their bar can sell some drinks else nobody will go there. All about their Profit. The rooms have a nice view but standard equipped. No breakfast buffet. Just some restaurant down but with bad breakfast quality. 50m away from The hotel it full was full of garbage Read less

This hotel was worse than my expectations. A few points to note: - bad signage (I arrived at night) going to elevator to go to lobby. There was no one there to direct and no sign I saw. I noted it to the lobby reception staff and they told me there was a sign but I am likely not the first person who has pointed it out - extremely frustrating that… Read more

I noted it to the lobby reception staff and they told me there was a sign but I am likely not the first person who has pointed it out - extremely frustrating that the bedside digital alarm rang in the middle of the night at 4/5 am. Presumably someone set the alarm before me but isn't the housekeeping meant to undo this? It unfortunately woke me up and kept me up - room was a little dated and definitely small. It felt lower end My stay was "ok" but I felt for the brand, this W felt like a lower end hotel Read less

Great location, awful hotel. Rip-offs everywhere, bathroom in room was really just a toilet with transparent sliding glass door! And the room was also very small. The bar was like a 80's disco joint with $35 drinks and no snacks. Stay somewhere else!
