While in Manhattan for three days of client visits, I was able to enjoy The Knickerbocker. The concierge was wonderful in making restaurant reservations, I was able to enjoy a business meeting breakfast in Charlie Palmer Steak, and in general had a wonderful stay, and the hotel location was ideal for business travel.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights celebrating my 60th birthday. From the start, the experience was fantastic, thanks to Paulo, she was amazing. Our flight landed early so we were over 2 hours earlier than normal check in but Paulo managed to get us in our room, which we were very grateful for. She was so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spacious and clean. The bedding and pillows were lovely and comfy and having black out blinds was great as our room faced Broadway so we had a great sleep. The shower was outstanding and has spoiled us for any other shower now. We were a bit disappointed reading the rooms do not offer tea/coffee facilities especially for a 5 star hotel, but Paulo did say she could request a kettle etc if we wanted. We did turn this down at the time but after returning after a good day out and lots of walking we soon regretted that, but just popped down to the cafe and grabbed a drink from the lovely staff down there. Location is fantastic, literally minutes from Times Square and the front bedrooms probably have a good view across but unfortunately we were at the side. The building is currently covered in scaffolding and netting and didn't get to see the beauty of the building, will have to go back for another visit. After returning one day, we arrived back at our room to find Paulo had arranged to have birthday cake left for me, a wonderful surprise and also a credit for the bar. We were sorry to have missed her on checking out as she was so helpful and made the stay extra special and would love to have thanked her personally. Read less

Brought my daughter for her 16 th birthday gift and had tickets to a show. Unfortunately she ended up with a 103 fever. I canceled our dinner reservation and got room service instead which came very quickly and was delicious. Had to call the desk in the middle of the night for ice to help get her fever down. They were terrific, came right up with a bucket of ice and bags to put it in. Although the weekend was ruined I felt fortunate to be staying in such a comfortable place Read less

We were return guest and again had a very nice stay. Except for one valet bellman. When my daughter and granddaughter arrived, he aggressively, without even a greeting, took my 13 year old granddaughter’s bag from her. My daughter politely told him that the two of them could manage their roller bags on their own as he tried to take her bag, as well. As I understand the situation from her, he was too aggressive and deaf to her protests. My daughter had to use the word NO 3 times. It was not OK. Also, my sister asked a doorman if he could get her and her 2 daughters a cab and he looked away without even a response. She walked down the block and got her own. Five star hotel guests shouldn’t have this kind of experience. Read less
