We stayed in December and this hotel was perfect! I extensively compared prices and features with other hotels before I went and with some apprehension, this was the hotel on which I decided. The Renaissance exceeded my expectations! The rooms were regular size, not small. We were on the 26th floor w no noise. I had asked for a city view w higher floor if possible, but was not expecting to get the top floor. We loved it ! However, I think any of the floors would be fine . We were on the side and didn’t face Times Square directly but that was ok. The terrace rooms looked cool and maybe faced but out of our price range. The R lounge was the place to go on the 3rd floor that looks right out onto the main part of Times Square ! That was really neat ! You’re facing* where the ball drops! Make reservations before you go. Otherwise, we would not have gotten in because it’s not a large lounge . The view is worth going! Our sons got the food which was good and my husband and I got drinks. We also liked staying in Times Square. It was close to a lot of things we wanted to see. Yummy hot chocolate was next door to the hotel on one side and an ice cream shop on the other. I would now always stay at the Renaissance Inn Times Square! Read less

Usually stay at the mid town Renaissance hotel when working in Mid town. but tried the Time square one this time for a change - the rooms are way bigger staff equally as nice - Jean Paul was defiantly worth a call out for exceptional service and welcoming. Good value hotel, very clean, very comfy would recommend

Visited in November. Gave up saying hello to the reception and security on day one as they just blank you or speak to eachother. I was actually stood with a receptionist showing her some charges on our bill that shouldn’t have been there, and she started talking to another receptionist “Tammy I’ve done everything on that desk and a half by the way” discussing workload. The room itself was very dated and didn’t even have matching furniture. The bar has great views but is falling apart. Not allowed in the breakfast lounge for a coffee without buying the whole breakfast. Been back a month now and haven’t received the refund of what they charged our card on check in, and what was on the bill they emailed us on departure. No mention of welcome back as gold elite members etc no benefits acknowledged. Mismatchng bedside tables with no usb for charging. A disappointing stay, but location great Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great option for a trip to NYC

Dec 7, 2024 LRNADUNE Boston, Massachusetts

We happened to be traveling during the week of the Christmas tree lighting, so hotels across NYC were incredibly expensive and we scoured to find a reasonable option. This one was a great solution - not as pricey as higher-end chains, but with a reliable name and a great location. Stay was pleasant.
