The staff were really friendly and helpful and the rooms were warm and clean. The hotel itself is just off Time Square so it's really convenient for all the sites and the many restaurants. All of my family loved it and we will be back same time next year.

This hotel is not The Plaza but what it is though is a great base for exploring the city. Our rooms were super clean with a comfy bed. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and professional. Big shout out to Jennifer and the awesome Carlos. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Check in I had more disappointing experiences in this hotel than expected and I will not recommend staying here! When I 1st arrived the entrance area looked very unpleasant as if it was under some form of renovation. The door was like a plastic temporary fix door. The main lobby did not have any heat and this was during my entire stay! The lobby which includes the bar area and restaurant did not feel any different from standing outside in the brisk NY winter weather, which got down to 14 degrees. Check in was a disaster. Mark was the only person on the clock checking in over 12 guest on Friday evening. It was very cold and the wait was long because he was alone. Room Description The rooms looked completely different from the display online space wise. The rooms are very very small, all of them. So as a learning lesson for me, please read the sq ft of the rooms in the description regardless of what the picture looks like online. My boyfriend and I had 5 luggage’s in total and it was barely any space to walk in the rooms already, so having luggage made the space seem impossible to be comfortable in. The bathroom is so small that you have to keep the bathroom entrance door completely closed to be able to get in and out the shower because the entrance door blocks the shower door. Room Decorating for Special Events My boyfriend had a surprise birthday arrangement put in the room and he was telling me that display looked nothing like what he had paid for. He paid extra add ons that was not there. We talked to Ms Madeline about possibly switching to a bigger room and the concerns my boyfriend had about the arrangements and decorations. She was so pleasant and helpful. She looked at the picture of the display after it was done and she realized it was decorations and add ons that were missing based off the finishing picture. He was refunded for the extra cost and was give an additional 50% off. However, he was quite disappointed that I wasn’t able to see the entire vision of my surprise. As for the rooms she said they are all pretty much the same standard size. However, she did give use 4 drink vouchers to compensate for the problems we had during our stay. Parking The website says $70 dollars per day for self parking but we were told that parking was $60 for every time you take your car out the garage and put it back. Horrible. (This is the link below and if you scroll down to hotel policies it’s says $70 per day) DoubleTree by Hilton Times Square Hotel West Maintenance. We ran into a situation where our door-lock battery went dead and it took over 30-45mins for someone to fix it. My boyfriend and I ended up missing our reservation to the LV Cafe that morning! An it’s almost impossible to get a reservation there. I tried to stress that we had forgot something in the room and we were on our way out to a brunch reservation but apparently they only had 1 maintenance person working that morning around 1030-1100. The female at the counter had an attitude and was very sarcastic which put me on edge because our stay hasn’t been the most pleasant to begin with. Bar Even though it was freezing downstairs at the bar. Julia was an amazing bartender! She did lighten up the mood. If we did not have the drink vouchers we wouldn’t have went to the bar at all. I will not recommend staying here, the location is pretty decent but for the price was not worth it! I could have found another hotel downtown for the same amount with I’m sure, less issues. Very basic hotel! Basic hotel which would have been acceptable for the price we paid however the lack of maintenance in the hotel is unacceptable. The carpet is fraying throughout the hotel and in the room, the elevators are in a terrible condition with constant waiting times to use them, stains everywhere you look and debris on carpet in room and throughout the corridors. The hotel experience played a very negative part of our trip to New York City. I would avoid this hotel if possible as it did not meet the usual standard of the “Doubletree” brand. Read less

Big shout out to Calderon who helped me in such a friendly and calm manner, easing my travel tensions. Room was clean and well cared for but the staff, the staff take the cake for being so incredible. Would recommend for future travels. Location is amazing and the price was very affordable.
