Excellent place to stay in New York City. It’s value for money and in an excellent location. The stuff is friendly and helpful. The quality of the beds is very good and the rooms are clean and convenient. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I’ve stayed at this property for its convenient location before, though it’s been a few years. It was WORN…faux leather pieces with big gouges, dingy wallpaper, dated carpet. The mattress on the bed did not seem old, just so cheap and hard. I prefer a firm mattress. This was not firm and supportive, so much as like lying down on a barely cushioned wooden slat. I’ll wait to learn of a refresh before I stay again. The room was very quiet, which we appreciated. For Manhattan, the rooms are large in size. The 12th floor has a common space with lots of room to hang out. The high floors are generally quiet. Maintenance items were voluminous. We went for two nights with two families. Our room had old gum ground into the carpet and the sleeper sofa was unusable as a bed due to discomfort and a metal bar… Read more

We went for two nights with two families. Our room had old gum ground into the carpet and the sleeper sofa was unusable as a bed due to discomfort and a metal bar across the middle. Our friend’s room had two non functioning lamps and a tv that went out. They advertise a restaurant but it is a small cafe open for breakfast only. They charge the rates of full service hotels with room service so we will not return. Read less

I am a lifetime platinum member of Marriott and this stay was my worst experience in 21 years of being a member of the program. I requested an early check in at 9 a.m. for noon on the morning of our stay (12/23). We were in the city for my daughter’s birthday to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City and had stayed at this property the last few times we visited the city. We checked in w/ the front desk at noon and was told room would be ready in a few hours. Attempted to message the hotel w/ no response for the next 3 hours to check on the status of the room. Came back to the front desk at 3:10 p.m and advised we all needed to change for the show which started at 4. Was told room was still not ready. I asked when the room would be ready and was told by staff member Aixa “it would be ready when it is ready” and that housekeeping can’t be rushed. I indicated that was disappointing and proceeded to walk away from the front desk to update my wife and kids. As I was walking away I could hear the Aixa ask her colleagues and the other guests at the front desk if this was my first time at a hotel. I called her out on the comment advising that it was unfortunate and unprofessional, especially given the fact that that my wife and kids heard the comment. I didn’t recount the thousands of dollars I have spent this year at Marriott properties nor did I tell her that I was a lifetime platinum member. All that said, I get that the hotel was busy with the holidays but the lack of appreciation and disrespect for a valued guest was a first for me in 21 years of choosing Marriott over competing brands. Clearly this employee lacks the professionalism and care that I have come to expect from the numerous Marriott representatives I have encountered over these many years. We proceeded to jump in a cab to head to radio city at 3:20 and as we were getting out at 3:27, I received a text that our room was now ready. We attempted to check into the room after the show but the bank of elevators we had to take were all not working because a pipe broke and flooded the elevator bank. Not wanting to miss our dinner reservation, we rechecked our bags with the front desk and headed out again without being able to change or freshen up. We returned 2 hours later only to find the elevators still out. We waited in line for 30 minutes to take the freight elevator to our room. The staff at the hotel seemed not to care or offer anything for the massive inconvenience the elevator outage was causing its guests. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the couch was not made up as we requested during both encounters w/ the front desk staff. I have stayed 1031 nights at a Marriott property and this was my most disappointing by far. I would choose another hotel over this one. Read less

Our stay at the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East turned from a dream into a nightmare. On our first night, my sister, sleeping on the sofa bed, was bitten by bedbugs. Shocked and uncomfortable, we reported the issue the next evening. Maintenance staff was helpful in moving us to a new room, but the inconvenience disrupted our plans. When we requested compensation, the hotel offered loyalty points, which we declined as we had no intention of returning. They claimed an inspection by a pest control company was required before offering a refund. Three weeks later, no follow-up has occurred. This experience reflects poor accountability and prioritization of profit over guest well-being. Avoid this hotel. Read less
