The hotel towers a mere 38 floors so you can expect some breathtaking views of Manhattan and the Hudson River, and you can also expect some seriously good food from Bill's Bar & Burger - from a hearty breakfast to a late-night cheeseburger (and some decent cocktails too).

My best friend and I were spending the night at the Marriott Downtown for her birthday. The hotel is really pretty and in a nice location. The staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating to us while we were there. The view from the room was amazing and you could see into New York Harbor from our room on the 35th floor. When we ate in the West Side Bar, the live music was wonderful and the food was really good. The bartender was really nice and very friendly to us. The breakfast buffet in Bill’s Bar was very standard but still nice and we enjoyed our meal. What marred the stay was a musty and dusty air quality in the whole hotel starting with our room. The heat was not working properly in our room and engineering had to come up and replace the batteries. That started the heat which must have stirred something in the heating system and the whole room smelled like dust. The problem was that when we visited the rest of the hotel, that smell was in the other places we visited. It felt like someone had not cleaned the heating units for a long time and when they turned it on, it kicked off a smell through out the whole hotel. We both had sinus problems and headaches. We ended up leaving early the next day when we had a late check out. It mired an otherwise good stay. I was not sure if the hotel was cleaning the system over our stay but I never felt like that in a hotel. I will be going back to the Residence Inn again down the street in the future. I had a much better experience there. Read less
I mean… what do you expect

What can I say. Too expensive but that’s typical. So basic even for a Marriott. Even for NY. A really very average place that only in the corners of the earth would justify this price. Room was large and relatively clean. 2 good nights but on the last (3rd) night just smelled absolutely overpoweringly of dirty sweaty socks. No slippers or bath… Read more

Room was large and relatively clean. 2 good nights but on the last (3rd) night just smelled absolutely overpoweringly of dirty sweaty socks. No slippers or bath robe. Front of house staff a little intransigent but with a few golden apples interpreted. Many better places in the area even for the price. Read less

We had a great time at Marriott and located in the heart of the city , walking distance to all the iconic places and hop on and off buses is just right the corner The view of our room is great especially in a city that never sleeps. My kids loved it and the staff were great
Good downtown hotel

A good hotel in the center of NYC. Very good hotel in downtown, close to everything so you can pretty much walk. A little bit hard to find but if you use gps then no issues. If you go near 4th of july then it is even more perfect. Highly recommended for everyone to go here.
