Elegant New England furnishings you’ll long to replicate back home. Kimpton Taconic Hotel gives the authentic Vermont experience. And its location throws you in the deep end too – right on Main Street in one of the state’s most historic and most charming villages, it’s got all those famous Taconic and Green Mountain moments in virtual touching distance, from leaf peeping, to skiing, to summer festivals. Creating a more homely hideaway than most hotels, they’ve included full American breakfasts, morning tea and coffee in the Living Room, and a social hour every evening. Although you also get perks you won’t find at home – like a heated outdoor pool and the exceptional farm-to-fork fare of The Copper Grouse tavern.

Note, this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to review a hotel. I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively for thirty years for both business and pleasure staying at many exceptional properties, and I have to say the Kimpton Taconic is my family's favorite hotel. The hotel has become a bit of an oasis and mini-vacation when we go to VT. The boutique size is perfect, accessible, cozy and never feels crowded. I cannot think of a more relaxing setting than the firepit and wraparound porch and rockers in the spring and summertime and the cozy library and den with continuously running real wood fireplace in the fall and winter. The excellent restaurant Copper Grouse, game room and complimentary cocktail hour make it that much more enjoyable. Most importantly though, the service and staff drive the truly exceptional vibe and experience of the hotel. There is a warmth and authenticity in the friendly service that is unlike any other places we have stayed. I hesitate writing this because I don't want this hidden gem to get out there, but I feel that this exceptional hotel and staff need to be recognized. Read less

Definitely a great hotel stay for couples with plenty to do and see in the Manchester, VT area. The room was well appointed. The workmanship in this building is impressive. Kimpton does a lot to make sure your visit is better than ordinary but not over the top.
Consistently Great

This was our second visit. The hotel is a five star property. Well decorated and spotless. The staff was helpful. We needed an accommodation which they gladly extended. If this was a huge hotel chain, I doubt they would have been so helpful. The location is perfect. Short drive to the ski areas and the town center. We will be back.
Pure Perfection!

We first discovered the Taconic during 2020 but have returned 3-4 times a year since then. It has become a home away from home that we look forward to returning to and always have a fantastic stay. Without question, the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and enhance our overall experience. We love sitting by the fireplace on a chilly day or in the rockers on the front porch during warmer weather. We’ve fallen in love with the charm of Manchester and the Taconic is at the center of the love story. The entire property has a refined rustic vibe that encourages you to slow down, relax, and take in all that Vermont has to offer. Yes, the rooms are small but they are very functional. In high season, it can be quite pricey but a good value can be found during non-prime times. The Kimpton experience always has something unique and the Taconic leads the pack. Read less

Great hotel. Close to the main park of town, couple restaurants am east walk away. Would recommend the walk around Equinox Pond near by. Sitting by the fireplace was great and they kept it going all day. Like most Kimptons they do have the 5-6 happy hour but you are limited to one drink ticket, I think it’s due to state law. Room was small but it worked. The star and overall differentiator was Andrew at the front desk. So welcoming, gave recommendations of the area. Great stay. Read less
