The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Needs major updates! Dripping from the ceiling in the middle of the night

Jan 24, 2025 Shaunna S Turlock, California

The MGM needs some major updates! We woke up to a waterfall part way through of first night there. The front seat didn't seem concerned when we called to explain our situation. The maintenance man sure did when he saw tho! MGM thought one night resort fee comped was enough for our inconvenience

Shops & restaurants: many shops and restaurants at this location, but hours of operation vary Not so great: I was put in a room next to one under construction. I had a hard time sleeping the night before & woke up after just an hour sleep to a lot of drilling and hammering. This made me sad bc changing a room at 9am even with late check out made no sense. Megan was more than understanding and honestly made me want to come back to MGM again which I will. Other things to note: in room beverage/snacks is extremely expensive - deli downstairs is priced better Casino: I am a poker room player and I do like this poker room as it is more relaxed feel than Aria but the dim lighting makes it difficult to see cards. Anyway, thank you for a great escape. I also played Read less

Second night it woke me up and I called the front desk but no other rooms available. Third night now and right at 2:00 am it woke me up yet again. It’s a continuous banging sound with what also sounds like a jackhammer. When I spoke with maintenance they were adamant that no construction goes on through the night but I believe they’re just lying. The maintenance person they sent out even had the gall to tell me that I was likely hearing the person above banging the shower door. Really? BANG, BANG, BANG for 6 hours? He said he could see a child doing that. Ridiculous. I have not had one good night’s sleep yet here. If you can avoid MGM Grand, I would do so. Read less
