On the beach in Waliea. Sushi 🍣 on the beach fantastic. Smoothie at the market store was solid. Activities desk attendant was above par. Check in was lacking and they were so busy there was always a line. Otherwise way overpriced for the experience and level of service.

Easily our favorite place to stay in Wailea. There are 2 great restaurants on property (Morimoto and Ka’ana Kitchen), a great spa, several pools, beach access, and right on the Wailea walking path. This is our happy place. The rooms have had a few upgrades in the past couple of years which has been nice!

This resort is lovely! We had a great time as a family, and the staff were incredible! This one definitely one of the best experiences of my life. The pool was fun and relaxing, just being in paradise was lovely, and our room was awesome. Definitely would recommend it!

We love the Andaz and it's laid back mood. Great views from our ocean view suite. That said, some are better angled than others. Plenty of room by the pools and lots to choose from. Location is wonderful and lots of dining options nearby as well.

Whenever I read a review that seems too good to be true, I’m skeptical—but this hotel is the real deal. We recently had the privilege of spending the holiday season at the Andaz Maui, a place we’ve visited over a dozen times, and it continues to exceed every expectation. From the moment you arrive, you know you’re somewhere extraordinary. This isn’t just a hotel; it’s a destination that embodies the very best of what hospitality can be. While the location, pools, views, and amenities are world-class, it’s the staff who elevate this property to a level unmatched by any other Hyatt or resort we’ve ever visited. The Staff: Exceptional in Every Way Let’s start with the incredible team, because they are truly what makes the Andaz feel like home. From the moment you arrive, their dedication to creating an unforgettable stay is evident. • Elijah at Breakfast: Elijah doesn’t just take your order—he remembers it. Your coffee magically appears before you even think to ask, and your omelet or pancake preferences are prepared like clockwork. One morning, the hotel was out of coconut syrup, but instead of letting it disrupt the experience, the staff went to a local market to pick some up just to enhance our meal. It’s these above-and-beyond efforts that make us feel so well cared for. • Dennis at the Pool: The pool staff, led by Dennis, operates like a finely tuned orchestra. They balance the needs of every guest, even during peak holiday times, with grace and efficiency. From setting up chairs and adjusting umbrellas to passing out complimentary mochi ice cream or hosting lively and fun poolside bingo, Dennis and his team deliver a seamless and enjoyable poolside experience. Even the smallest details, like refilling water stations without missing a beat, are handled with care. • World-Class Mixologists: The bars at the Andaz are second to none, thanks to the incredible mixologists. Their cocktails are creative and meticulously crafted, rivaling the best in the world. Using fresh juices, syrups, and top-shelf spirits, they create inventive drinks that are truly memorable. Their “Cocktail of the Month” program is a must-try, and for those wanting to learn the craft, the mixology classes are both fun and educational. One standout creation you might get to try is the famous Doft’s Delight, a signature cocktail invented by Jason, which perfectly embodies the creativity and expertise of the team. It’s yet another way the Andaz staff goes above and beyond to create a unique experience for their guests. Breakfast Buffet: A Culinary Adventure Speaking of breakfast, the buffet here is nothing short of spectacular. Fresh fruits, cheeses, pastries, made-to-order omelets, unique pancakes, mochi waffles, and fresh juices—it’s an experience, not just a meal. The variety and quality are unmatched, and you’ll find yourself lingering just to savor it all. Poolside Perfection The pools at the Andaz Maui are an oasis of relaxation and fun. With breathtaking views and expertly maintained facilities, it’s the ideal place to unwind. The pool staff ensures a seamless experience, catering to every need, whether it’s adjusting umbrellas, bringing fresh towels, or passing out cool treats. It’s these thoughtful touches that make every moment at the pool feel luxurious. A Unique Sense of Tranquility Unlike so many other properties in Wailea, even during peak season when the hotel is at full capacity, the Andaz maintains a rare sense of tranquility. The ratio of guests and guestrooms to the physical property is carefully balanced, creating a serene atmosphere that never feels crowded. This thoughtful design and planning ensure that guests can fully enjoy the beauty and relaxation of the resort without feeling overwhelmed by others—a standout feature that keeps us coming back year after year. Updated Rooms and Endless Activities The recently refreshed rooms are better than ever, with thoughtful improvements like enhanced rain showers and more in-room storage. The resort is brimming with activities for all ages, from lei-making and ukulele classes to cookie decorating and holiday bingo. There’s always something to do, but even with all these options, the serene beach beckons—perfect for a sunset stroll or simply unwinding with the help of the attentive beach staff. A Luau Like No Other If you’re looking for the best luau on Maui, look no further. The Andaz sets the gold standard, combining stunning performances with incredible food and an intimate, immersive atmosphere. Thoughtful Touches Everywhere From the moment you’re greeted with flower and wood leis, lavender lemonade, and reusable water bottles, the Andaz’s thoughtfulness is evident. The complimentary minibar, holiday treats at the front desk, and spontaneous poolside surprises like mochi ice cream add to the sense that every detail has been carefully considered to make your stay magical. The Negatives Would Be… It is not cheap, but we feel it is worth every penny, making it a great value. The other “negative” is that this is the only place we’ve been able to truly disconnect, which makes getting back to work difficult and leaving downright heartbreaking. These aren’t negatives in the traditional sense, but they’re worth noting! Why We Keep Coming Back There’s no shortage of reasons why we eagerly return year after year. The Andaz Maui isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience, a sanctuary, and a place where unforgettable memories are made. Whether it’s the staff who make you feel like family, the stunning location, or the endless amenities, there’s simply no place like it. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit! Thank you, Andaz Maui, for making every stay more special than the last. You truly are a slice of paradise! 🌴 Read less
