Front Street, Memphis, TN, US, 38103 Booked a special Anniversary trip. Though we chose wisely , until we arrived. Arrived to check in and the girl at a small table set up, was our check in person, she seemed bothered by the couple ahead of us and also us.. taking time away from her. She made it clear that this check in desk would be closed indefinitely. She was not friendly at all, and told us our room number and that was it. We went to our room and weren’t impressed at all. Immediately hair on the floor in the bathroom, Extension wires everywhere. Tried to find housekeeping to ask to mop our floor and they were nowhere to be found. But thought we would make the best of it. We left to start our time there, came back to doors locked and to be told that we had to enter through the Caption Hyatt doors. This was a small walk and we had to enter this hotel and No one acknowledged us as we walked in and had to find our way to our room, which was about a 5 minute walk. This was every time we left and came back. Our hotel doors were locked every time. No restaurant was open, no bar, and the ice machines... hardly worked. No one would acknowledge us except twice and it was a young bellman. We asked for help with dinner reservations from the manager that said she would get back with us and never did. Our room was not the cleanest and housekeeping, well we only saw once while there. The phone worked when it wanted to. The floor had hair on it, and there was a bathroom leak, and when I told the lady at the front desk of Centric Hotel, she never said a word. The towels ended up being yellow from wiping the floor up. No one would come and check it out or offer to clean up. One night the room above us , apparently had someone jumping off the bed. After several times we called down and asked for someone to do something. They were not nice about it. Every light in our room was plugged up with extension cords all over the place. Some plugs did not work. three of the plugs did not work. Asking for help was not easy and most acted like they had more important things to do on their phones. We tried to go up to the rooftop because the manager said we could use Centric hotel amenities. That didn’t work. We were not allowed up. The night we decided to eat at the restaurant we were told it was closed. On a Sunday night. No one told us when booking that there would be these issues. No one told us we would have to go through another building just to get to our room and that nothing would be open, food, lounge, bar... nothing. I felt sorry for anyone elderly and handicapped as to see how far the walk was. We chose Hyatt thinking it was on the corner of Beale street and looked so nice in the photos. This was not the case, this was a waste of money and wasn’t at all the anniversary trip I expected. I have reached out and no one has tried to even acknowledge the issues. SO disappointing. After many calls, and emails, no one has tried to address the situation. Read less

Food choices were better than most. Great service from the front desk and the valets. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Read less

We had a fantastic stay at Caption by Hyatt in Memphis, and our experience was made even better by our Globalist status with Hyatt, which got us upgraded to a spacious suite. The suite had breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, which marks the border between Tennessee and Arkansas – a truly memorable sight! Check-in was seamless at the Hyatt Centric lobby, where the staff were exceptionally friendly. The lobby itself was beautiful, featuring a sleek, modern design and a great vibe. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Cima’s, where the food was excellent, and the staff were attentive and warm. A special shoutout to the front desk, who were always quick to respond via the app’s chat feature—an awesome convenience for guests. While the Caption lobby had some fun amenities like a ping-pong table and a pool table, we were disappointed to find that the ping-pong table didn’t have paddles or a ball. Still, it was a nice touch for anyone who likes to play while unwinding. Our room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. We particularly appreciated the filtered water stations in the hallways, which is such a nice perk for anyone traveling. One downside was the valet service. It was incredibly slow, and despite using their text message system to request our car, we waited about 15 minutes without any response. There were staff members just standing around, not attending to our request. To make matters worse, they initially tried to charge us an “oversized vehicle” fee for our standard SUV. However, once we brought it up with Hyatt directly, they handled the situation quickly and made it right, which we appreciated. Overall, despite the valet hiccup, we had an amazing stay and would definitely return to Caption by Hyatt. The views, room quality, and excellent service made it a memorable family getaway! Read less

It's a great location for going to Beale Street. Filter water and ice is provided, which is wonderful. The restaurant has good breakfast, and the price was very reasonable. My only complaint was the bed was too firm for me. I woke up sore every morning.

We stayed for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year. We were kindly upgraded to a river view room, so had a great view of the river and the light show on the bridge at night. The decor was modern and cool! The pillows and beds were really comfortable . There was also a coffee machine and fridge. There was a pool table and table tennis table in the lobby along with a coffee shop that served breakfast and light snacks. The hotel was connected to the Hyatt Centric by an internal covered walkway where there was a bar and restaurant that you could use. The staff were friendly and the check in smooth. Valet parking is available for $33 but we parked in the public lot over the street which was $12 per day. Location was great just a couple of blocks from the bars and restaurants of Beale street. We felt safe walking there and back in the early evening. I would recommend and will return if in Memphis again. Read less
