The hospitality at this hotel is truly amazing, and the location is unbeatable. It’s close to everything but still quiet when you need it to be. The bar serves incredible drinks, and while the decor is a bit dated, it still has its charm. I want to give a special shoutout to the front desk staff—Tracy, in particular—for their guidance and warm, friendly attitude, which really made my stay exceptional. Without the outstanding staff, this hotel would likely be a three-star experience, but their hospitality elevates it to a very nice hotel. Don’t let my review deter you from staying here; it’s still a wonderful place to visit! Read less

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter from January 17th to January 20th, 2025, and unfortunately, this experience fell well below our expectations, especially considering the high standards we’ve come to associate with Hyatt properties. Pros: The front desk staff who assisted us during a disruptive smoke alarm incident were courteous and helpful. They offered to move us to another room and provided a late check-out, which we appreciated. The location in the French Quarter is also convenient and ideal for exploring the area. Cons: • Room Maintenance and Cleanliness: Upon arrival, we found that some lights in our room were not functioning, which we had to report to the front desk. Additionally, the carpet appeared dirty, giving the room an unclean and poorly maintained feel. The fridge in the room was not plugged in, and even after plugging it in, we found it inconvenient that it hadn’t been prepared in advance. Furthermore, the coffee machine didn’t work even when plugged in, adding to the frustrations. • Smoke Alarm Incident: On our final night, the smoke alarm went off abruptly before 5:00 AM, waking us from sleep. We attempted to call the front desk for over 30 minutes, but no one answered. We eventually had to go downstairs in person to report the issue. As light sleepers, this disruption completely threw off our rest and plans for the day. • Inconsistent Staff Attitudes: While the front desk staff who handled the smoke alarm issue were helpful, other staff members we interacted with during our stay were inattentive and occasionally displayed an unwelcoming attitude when we asked for information. Overall, while the front desk team’s efforts to resolve the smoke alarm issue were appreciated, the overall experience was disappointing. The lack of attention to room maintenance, poor communication during an emergency, and inconsistent hospitality left us questioning the level of service at this property. We have stayed at many Hyatt properties and have always been impressed by their commitment to quality and hospitality, but this stay did not meet those expectations. We hope the management takes these concerns seriously to ensure future guests have a better experience. Would we return? Not unless significant improvements are made. Read less
