The Westin Peachtree Plaza

Atlanta, Georgia

Virgin rating

The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days. To celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was treated to a $70 million renovation, adding extras like BikeWESTIN cycles, and turning this statuesque pillar into one of downtown Atlanta’s most up-to-date pads.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Def not soundproof rooms!

Jan 9, 2025 TORN1 Toronto, Canada

My folks stayed here in 1979 and I remember them talking about this hotel and how fancy and tall it was. Def true although certainly not sound proof and we must have been on a floor with pets as there was a dog barking for about 30 mins at midnight. Other than that everything you would expect from a Westin!

Beds and pillows comfortable. Rooms small. Curtains would not open in half of window. Toilet did not flush properly. No hotel self parking available and valet atrociously expensive at $60 per night. Sundial restaurant rotation nonfunctional and requirement of entree purchase per person with least expensive entree $60, almost all ( if not all) of… Read more

The hotel is very good and feels luxurious, the view is good but very scary for me because i’m scared of heights. The only problems I have is that there are not enough outlets. The best thing about this hotel is that the tv has youtube, netflix, prime video and many more.

Great location, great staff, great amenities but the room itself can definitely use an upgrade. I assumed they banked on the floor to ceiling windows for natural light, but it doesn't really work after sunset. If you aren't patient, the elevator situation would suck, but I also in town for an extremely busy weekend, so results may vary. If I… Read more

Image of the Tripadvisor rating DON"T BOOK - there are better hotels in Atlanta with better staff

I booked this hotel for my college son and his friends. I paid in advance so they would not have an issue at check in. Imagine my surprise when my 20 year old son called and the hotel was asking how they were paying. I offered to give my card via phone or email and was told they could not do that. I booked this hotel for my college son and his friends. I paid in advance so they would not have an issue at check in. Imagine my surprise when my 20 year old son called and the hotel was asking how they were paying. I offered to give my card via phone or email and was told they could not do that. This created a frustrating experience that was not resolved in any type of way that ever makes me want to stay at this hotel or any marriot property again.
