After a multi million dollar renovation, the Zephyr has been transformed into a modern, quirky hotel with a nautical theme and laidback vibe. In the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, you can walk to PIER 39 and Ghirardelli Square (did someone say chocolate?) or jump on a cable car to explore further. Hidden at the back of the hotel is Socialite, a casual restaurant with a sociable atmosphere. There are lots of dining options close by too — grab a clam chowder bread bowl or head to Chinatown for delicious dim sum. When you're done sightseeing for the day, your hotel room offers a welcome oasis from a city that seemingly never sleeps!

In Fisherman’s Wharf, steps from PIER 39, Ghiradelli Square and the world-famous San Francisco cable cars. Shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. Transfer time from San Francisco International Airport: 30 minutes.

Love this place. When we come back to San Francisco this is where we will stay. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rebecca was so awesome! The fire pits and smores are a great bonus to your stay. The hotel's eclectic decor is in charming and inviting.

I was in SF on business and was recommended to book a hotel near Fishermen Wharf as hotels prices are more competitive in this area than in the city center, especially when there is a conference going on. Found Zephyr hotel by chance, and was happily surprised with the athmosphere, super nice staff, great patio, the mix of guests (families and business people). Things I absolutely liked: the decoration, unbeatable location, the patio with fire places going on in the evening, the games room(s), the set up of the bedroom, and of course the more than competitive prices. Things which could be improved: The bathroom (a little old), the lack of bar or coffee service (would make a huge difference to the hotel) and the gym which is rather under equipped. I was there for 5 nights and nearly felt on holidays, despite being on a business trip. Read less

Was a great stay. The room, lobby, and staff were all nice. Was able to work both in the lobby and in the room at the desk. Walkable to downtown, north beach, Russian hill, fisherman’s wharf, and to the marina. The walk along the water is beautiful. Easy mobile check and can even text the staff if you need anything

Non existent customer service. They charge a per night hold on your credit card of 75USD yet they have nothing in the hotel you could charge to your room (no room service, restaurant or anything like that you can tick up to your room). Non existent customer service. They charge a per night hold on your credit card of 75USD yet they have nothing in the hotel you could charge to your room (no room service, restaurant or anything like that you can tick up to your room). Paid in full for the room via booking.com yet the hotel charged our credit card for some apparent taxes that “booking.com mustn’t have calculated properly”. When bought this up that it was something they needed to take up with booking.com they weren’t interested and said that was for us to sort. They have security (at night two people) there every day yet every time we saw that security they were on their phones watching something on Netflix or whatever platform. Not once did the security raise their glance to check each time there was movement or noise or anything really. The hotel also charge a $30USD daily fee for ‘use of services’ like their courtyard, games room and wifi. Things that most hotels include as part of the facilities available. No mention of this on booking.com or when checked in. Discovered it when asked for print out of bill. Bill was littered with so many taxes that it was difficult to work out what booking.com had apparently undercharged for re tax. Before, during and after the stay constantly got emails asking to verify payment method ‘and click on this link to do so’… do not click on the link. No amount of emailing the hotel got a response about that. Whilst it’s a great location, would not recommend, based on the above. Read less

My little family and I go to SF pretty often and we normally stay at a different hotel however my mom wanted to book something special for my birthday weekend so she found Hotel Zephyr. At first, I was obsessed and loved all the family interactive activities. My daughter enjoyed the s'mores. I even overlooked the cosmetic damages to the room and thought this might be our new go to spot. As we know it can be hectic packing up. After checking out and arriving at our breakfast destination I realized I left my AirPods in the hotel room. I immediately called and asked if the housekeeper can please keep an eye out as the location was still pinging at the hotel. They said they would call me back. We left my car in the parking lot as you can stay there until 3:00pm. I went back to the hotel front counter since they did not call me back and asked them about my AirPods. The front desk seemed visibly annoyed and said the housekeeper said she didnt find anything. I said do you mind if I check the room? Since I knew exactly where I left them. I knew they were not in my luggage as we went thru it fives times. It was a lot of back and forth before I went into the hotel room with two housekeepers and they were not in the room EVEN THOUGH THAT IS THE LAST PLACE THEY WERE. I went to tell them the location is saying they are here but they were very dismissive towards me. I finally left without my AirPods and went to explore SF while I was still away from the hotel with my luggage and everything may AirPods were still saying they were at "hotel zephyr" until someone finally disconnected them. There was no way that I took my AirPods out of the room as we went straight from the room to the car to put luggage in. Came home went thru luggage once again and no AirPods. Lesson learned. Will not be coming back to stay somewhere I can't even trust. Read less
