Every moment of time spent in your room will be filled with the sound of railroad crossing bells and train horns directly outside your window. And, yes, I mean DIRECTLY outside your window. Then, you finally get up and take a shower and the water doesn’t stay at a comfortable temperature, it alternates warm and cold every 15-20 seconds.

Worked mostly with Marissa, but took time to meet other staff member throughout my stay. The people at guest services had all the answers to all my questions. Any situations we had with our meeting room (A&V) there was someone on top of is ASAP. It did not matter what time of day or night there was someone available. The morning I was leaving I was waiting for Uber out front by Valet talking to Milo. I was asking about the nearby places and businesses and he was like a local guide. He even helped with my Uber app on my new phone. I hope to return soon and when I do I will stay at the “The Rock”! Thank you and Happy New Year! Terry Read less

I don't recommend this hotel, pathetic service, customer service was borderline aggressive. Every time the chambermaid came to clean my room, she made a fuss. The hotel reception is just terrible, especially for the price it costs. I recommend the OMNI or Hilton hotels, which are much better. I'll never set foot in this "hotel" again.

Their fees and high priced mini bar were marked and most of the onsite extra costs were available.... The 1 star review comes in the way of the customer service following. Calling the 833 number plastered on the emails asking for more upgrades, goes to a general number that cannot help at all if you booked online with the hotel directly (apparently Hard Rock is not in charge of all Hard Rock Hotels) no 3rd party was used in this case (Trip Advisor, Expedia, etc.), after a frustrating phone call which is recorded and hopefully used for training, a number to the direct hotel after having to tell them 4 times what hotel was provided. The person at the HR San Diego was just as frustrating as the fees were discussed and she tried to educate me on a definition of the word deposit, as that is what the statement read, but she could not elaborate further if they were fees or sales tax. The full out arrogance and don't give a crap attitude from 3 separate agents of this organization is why I will likely never stay at a Hard Rock again and certain make the same recommendation to my friends, family, and colleagues at every opportunity. My sound advice is to not stay at the Hard Rock as there are plenty of other amazing places to stay especially in San Diego. Read less

My daughter had her Sweet 16 birthday slumber party here. Everything was terrific, the rooms were nice and clean, the pool and cabanas were great. But the best thing was the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful, especially the people at the front desk. In particular, Emma. She went above and beyond to get us in the correct rooms and checked us in 3 hours early so we could begin the birthday festivities right away. I had to go down to the front desk for a variety of reasons in the courese of the weekend and she couldn't have been more helpful and kind. The kids hung out at the pool during the day and the bartender and cabana wait staff couldn't have been nicer. Accomodating their endless requests for French fries and Dr. Peppers. Everyone from the valets to the cleaning staff was extremely nice! We had a wonderful stay! Read less
