It is not an exaggeration to say that the Thompson Hollywood provided the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my 10+ years of work travel, not to mention my entire life. It is not an exaggeration to say that the Thompson Hollywood provided the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my 10+ years of work travel, not to mention my entire life. Across the world from luxury in London, to Motel 6s in Vegas, Thompson Hollywood stands alone as the worst, full stop. Here’s what happened. Starting at around 12-1am, the guests in the room next to mine were increasingly loud, yelling, singing karaoke, and occasionally breaking things. I placed several calls to the front desk to get them to quiet down over the next few hours but it wasn't until around ~2:40am that security did anything meaningful about it (1st call no one was sent, 2nd call someone was sent but they only lightly tapped on the door before walking away and did not speak to anyone, 3rd call they finally came to talk to them). They quieted for a bit before returning to their party while I returned to my attempts to muffle the sound by covering my head with a pillow. At this point (maybe ~3amish?) I heard a much louder sound, and I looked up to see a large drunk man trying to urinate on my hotel bed while I was still in it. I jumped out of bed, yelled at him to get out, and called the front desk again while attempting to get past him to safely leave. Apparently, the door adjoining my room to the party room was only locked from my side, not their side, and in his drunken stupor a guest had wandered into my room mistaking the bed for a urinal. Security arrived a few minutes later to escort him back. Here's what they failed to do. Failed to provide a safe room that can be locked from drunken strangers (including after the incident, they wanted to just "put a few things in the way so they don't accidentally open it again"). Failed to respond to multiple reports of excessive noise and drunken behavior before it escalated into a physically dangerous situation (I was told several times that the guests in the adjoining room were regulars and that it would be calmer soon). Failed to offer an alternative room. Failed to let me speak to a manager at checkout about the incident. Failed to follow up since the incident in any meaningful way. Read less

I’ve stayed at all the Hyatt properties in this area of Hollywood (the Tommie, the Dream, and the Thompson). If I had to find any fault, it would be with the somewhat cramped bathroom, and the fact there was no bathrobe provided. Everything else was perfection. Read less

I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff which made our experience at The Thompson so much more memorable than just a wonderful hotel room. In particular I would like to acknowledge Frosie, Kyle and Alan. We were at the pool bar frequently and the 3 of them were always amazing and so attentive to us as customers and thankfully then friends. It’s not often you go to a property and the highlight of the day is seeing the staff at a hotel. So thank you for that! Also, we changed rooms and ended up in a corner room with a patio which was amazing. They warned us the club may be noisy where we were, but we didn’t hear a peep. The location is great and the valets also very attentive and friendly. We also want to send our regards for what you all are going through as a community with the fires. We have contributed to many of your local organizations and local families as we have a deep connection with LA. We visited your property for our friend’s 50th over NYE and stayed for the week. We will absolutely come back. And we send our love to each of you. Thank you for having us and we hope our contributions to your community help make a difference. Read less

Great hotel in Hollywood. We only stayed one night but would stay here again. Everything is new and clean, although could use thicker pillows. The staff was very helpful and nice. The rooftop pool and 5pm happy hour was great before we left for dinner.

Fantastic experience overall. Was surprised by how quiet the property was - great sleep quality. Room was available before official check in time. Bathroom was very small and room wasn’t huge but served our purposes. Globalist breakfast is one of the more stingy ones that I’ve come across with quite overpriced items and relatively low limits, and the hotel pursues overages from guests. Service is a bit mixed. Service at the lobby bar was consistently very good. I was working from the room for a day and the set up was not conducive to that with no desk or even a table. Thank goodness it was just a day. Another small disappointment is that Mother Wolf shows as a restaurant of the hotel but it’s independent and you can’t charge to the hotel room. Despite the disappointments, I would stay again and recommend the hotel. The front desk was very kind at check in and consistently pleasant about questions throughout the stay. Read less
