The hotel

Planning to pay Mickey a visit at Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure? Then the Hyatt Regency Orange County can be the perfect respite for you and your family. There’s even a shuttle bus to take you there and bring you back again. We love the Kids Suites, which give parents and children their own space to chill out. And the fire pit on the third-floor sports deck is a great place for a glass of something, and to toast marshmallows and s’mores under the stars. Add an on-site brewhouse and loads of attractions nearby, and you have everything you need for your O.C. adventure.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency at Garden Grove in CA the week of January 13. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. There is a lot to do in the adjacent area, and I had a nice steak at Morton's one evening while there.

The Hyatt Regency OC has lost its sparkle. My stays here go back 20 years and my family has had many great memories at this hotel. My TA review written on 9.20.2014 gives insight to how great this place used to be in terms of customer service and the Hyatt touch. The furniture in the rooms is pretty beat up. Windows were extremely dirty. Housekeeping no longer does turndown and good luck ordering in-room dining. The front desk personnel were no more useful than a kiosk. I actually think a touchscreen would be friendlier and more useful. I tried to order in-room dining two nights with no luck. The first night, the front desk referred me to a QR code on the back of the room key that goes to a page with nothing to do with room service, or even a restaurant menu. The lady at the front desk then stated, “the system must be down. Your other option is to come down to the restaurant and order to go.” How was I supposed to do that with a five year old sleeping in bed.” She didn’t even offer to have bell services or a valet bring the food. I would have gladly provided a generous gratuity to make it worth their while. The next night I called the front desk about in-room dining, they again referred me to the totally useless QR code on the back of the key, then transferred me to the restaurant where I got a voicemail. Uber Eats saved the day! The bunk beds suites here have always been a favorite with my kids. They now have a warning sign on the bunk beds which indicates the top bunk is for kids 16 years old an up. Hmmm, there are advertisements in each elevator showing a kid on the bunk bed ladder who is clearly younger than 16. Obviously, the legal team and the advertising team don’t talk to each other. In addition to the always unavailable in-room dining, food and beverage has fallen off in the restaurants. Tusca no longer serves dinner. OC Brewhouse is the only option. They have a good salmon entrée but the pepperoni pizza is horrible! The pizza tasted like something out of the frozen food section at Food4Less. Service in OCB is generally very good, however. Valet and bell staff here are still good and so are the shuttle operators. The shuttles themselves are a bit rickety and long in the tooth but they serve their purpose. Still an okay place to stay for the price as long as you don’t need anything. I wish Hyatt offered something a bit more premium near Disneyland. When traveling with small kids, service fails make things harder. Read less

The service at the Hyatt was absolutely amazing! The staff was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, and they were quick to accommodate any request with a smile. From check-in to check-out, the experience was seamless and exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend!

This hotel is great for a stay on a Disneyland trip. Parking is super easy and the rooms are very comfortable, especially the updated ones. The pool area is nice and the drinks from the bar are great. The shuttle to Disneyland is super easy and if you happen to miss it a Lyft or uber is less than $10 usually. The staff at the hotel is excellent,… Read more
