I stayed here for one night while my oldest daughter and husband were skiing. The sit down restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner but is closed for lunch. In other words, there is nowhere at this hotel to sit and have lunch or to get a glass of wine during the day other than the smoky casino floor. The free shuttle to the mountain was convenient. The room itself was ok, bathrooms could use an upgrade. Not the best experience for me, but if you won’t be spending much time at the hotel I guess it’s ok. Read less

The hotel was fine. They have excellent activities planned by concierge. Do try their hiking activities. Private beach was excellent. Few bad experiences include, 1. After room service per each day, we used get a strange smell from bathroom 2. A person from valet was extremely rude

Long check in lines! When my family and I arrived at our room, the trash had not been emptied, the bed wasn't made, used towels rolled in a ball on the toilet, as well as leftover beverage containers on the table. We asked if there was another room and they advised they were at full capacity. My wife and I didn't have enough time to get ready for… Read more

We asked if there was another room and they advised they were at full capacity. My wife and I didn't have enough time to get ready for dinner reservations since we had to speak with the front desk as well as the housekeeping manager to fix their mistake. I'll definitely look at other hotels next time we visit North Tahoe. Read less

The check-in process was very fast. After check-in, each adult would get a sparkling wine, which was a very good gesture of the hotel. The lobby felt very warm and cozy. The check-in process was very fast. After check-in, each adult would get a sparkling wine, which was a very good gesture of the hotel. The lobby felt very warm and cozy. This is a pet friendly hotel and this is why you will see some dogs in the lobby. All the dogs were all on leash, and luckily, they were on leash because we saw a few big dogs barking at each other very loudly. If it was not the leash, they might be biting/attacking each other. It was very scary. We have 2 adults and 2 children. The room was very spacious and clean. You can find a lot of outlets and USB ports near beds or desks for you to charge your mobile devices. The closet was also very big. The best thing they had in the room that I never saw in other Hyatt was the coat hanger right next to the door. The coat hanger was very useful for us to hang our thick winter jackets. However, the shower head was not so good. We can not get constant hot water from the shower head. We need to keep adjusting the water to maintain the water temperature. During nighttime, when we were sleeping, dogs were barking nonstop either in the hallway or in other guests' rooms, and this was around 11 pm to 12AM. There was a sign asking guests to be a good neighbor and kept the noise down right at the elevator but the sign didn't seem to work and I'm not sure if the hotel would be able to do anything about the noises. At around 5AM in the morning of our check-out day, the alarm clock in the room malfunction and was making non-stop noise. We unplug the power of the alarm clock, but it seemed like there was a backup battery in the alarm clock, when without the power cord, it still made noise every 10 minutes or so. We eventually put the alarm clock outside the room and called the housekeeping to come pick it up otherwise, it would wake up others guests. Then at around 7:30AM some guests from a nearby room was playing some instruments. It sounded like a violin. This is becoming ridiculous when you had dogs barking, malfunction alarm clock and then early morning violin disturbance. The violin lasted for almost an hour before it stopped. I'm not sure what the hotel can do with all these noises but this really gave us a bad experience while staying here. Honestly, if it was not all of these noises, I would give it a 4 stars because all the staff were very nice and trying to give their best to give us a good experience while staying there. Read less

This was our first time at this Hyatt property and we stayed as GOH, Hyatt discoverist. We had a standard room and was luckily upgraded to a family suite. This came with a bunk bed and a king. The kids loved the bunk bed and this room was very spacious for our family. We had plenty of room for our luggages and the bathroom was very spacious as well. The staffs were all wonderful and friendly. We did activities provided by the hotel as a family and due to it not being a busy time, we were the only ones in some of these classes, which was fun and we all enjoyed it. The hot tub and heated pool were nice after a day of snowboarding/being out in the cold. Things that can use some improvements would be breakfast and having a hotel restaurant/bar that stays open later. The food from the menu was good but the buffet was lacking. The bar at the hotel closes at 10p. The casino connected to the hotel is open late but it smells really bad inside. You can smell the cigarette smoke in the hotel lobby whenever that door opens.
