The hotel

If ever a hotel was deliciously OTT, this is it. Its 39 acres host enough pools to swim in a different one every day of the week (and still have one spare); 2 championship golf courses; and dining experiences including a Sunday Brunch that will satisfy your hunger for a week, and High Teas with dainty cakes and finger sandwiches. The setting’s pretty lavish too – near Phoenix Mountain Preserve and Biltmore Fashion Park Mall. A Frank Lloyd Wright design masterpiece, with a 1930s pool rumoured to have been Marilyn Monroe’s favourite, Arizona Biltmore’s past is so fascinating they even host history tours. That’s not to say it’s stuck in the past: modern musts here include complimentary WiFi, a fitness centre, a 92-foot waterslide, and five dining venues serving contemporary takes of classic dishes.

The Arizona Biltmore is a beautiful property that is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The staff is attentive and wonderful; the group exercise - yoga, meditation, and pilates - are enjoyable; and the spa is peaceful. We enjoyed the food on property as well. We began our Arizona vacation at the Biltmore and would highly recommend this resort.

We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore during the week of Thanksgiving. The resort is one of my favorites in the area. The elegance and the history of the resort really make it special. We booked a Paradise Pool side room and loved having a patio with a fire pit and a private entrance to the Paradise Pool. This was perfect for kids that wanted to ride the slide over and over again. We spent most of our days by the pool and enjoyed the poolside food and drinks service. Everything we got was delicious. Unfortunately, there was a very tragic event that took place at the hotel while we were there, but the hotel handle everything in a professional way. You could tell they took every precaution to shield the customers from everything going on while trying to keep business as usual, but there was a somber feel in the air. We look forward to our next trip to the Arizona Biltmore. Read less

This was a great place to stay. It was one of the few places where the beds and pillows are super comfortable. Loved the architecture and landscape. The bar outside with firepits, palm trees and mountain views was absolutely wonderful. We were there with another couple as a birthday golf trip for my friend and my husband. They played golf three times, once at the Biltmore and had a great experience. We had a server outside at Adobe after their round, and I'm sorry to say I don't remember her name, but she was fantastic. A wonderful salesgirl for sure! The restaurants at the resort are pricey, but the food is good. The spa was nice. It was cold the day we got our massage so we weren't able to spend much time outdoors, but it is very pretty. The only thing that would make it better is if there was a pool for just the spa. We ended up leaving the spa as it got warmer and sitting at the adult pool, which was wonderful. My friend and I both had a fantastic hot stone massgae at the spa. I would definately recommend it. We did a little hiking nearby, and there are some great restaurants and shopping too. The gym is good and has a lot of equipment. I didn't do any classes, only because the times didn't line up with my schedule. The hotel gift shops have good things at normal prices and the staff in those shops are very nice. As I am not a golfer, I took a tennis lesson one day while the others were on the course. This was one of my favorite things all week. The instructor, Brendan Easterling, was better than fantastic. He gave me so many tips and helped me with various things. I wish I could have had more time with him as I truly believe he could change my game if given the chance. If I am ever back, taking another lesson with him is the one thing I know I would do again. If I ever get the chance I would take my girlfriends back there for a tennis camp type trip with him. He is patient, encouraging, knowledgable, and was excellent at picking out certain small things to work on for improvement. I really appreciated his instrustion. I greatly recommend him if you are staying here or traveling close by. The hotel is older, but it has been renovated and it is clean and very nice. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because we did not have great service with housekeeping. I had to ask for things every day as housekeeping did not replinish some things. I did leave extra tip money, but honestly would have left them much more had they restocked my water, coffee, make up towels, and make up cotton pads without being asked more than once. That being said, the valet guys were woderful. They even recommended a local mexican restaurant to us when we asked and it did not disappoint. They were always quick and friendly. I would definately recommend this resort and would stay here again. Read less

I stayed for four days to attend a retreat and the accommodation was outstanding. The resort is huge and the standards of service are exceptional. All the staff take pride in the heritage and history that this Franklin Lloyd Wright creation from the 1920’s embodies. I stayed in the Paradise Wing on the fourth floor which allowed me a balcony with a spectacular view of one of the five sumptuous pools complete with ‘Twister’ water slides, three of them, presiding over the tastefully landscaped gardens. Mature cacti populate the grounds and too many palm trees to count. To list the facilities would take more time and wouldn’t include everything. Though pricey, the experience of staying in this spectacular corner of Phoenix is incomparable. I do so hope to return. Read less
