Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock

Virgin rating

The hotel

The wow-inducing setting’s the first thing you’ll notice when you rock up at this hotel – and you’ll soon see why its home has been dubbed ‘the most beautiful place in America’. But this is a hotel of contrasts, and the iconic fiery red rocks of Sedona are the backdrop for the impossibly lush fairways of its championship 18-hole golf course, the shimmering waters of its outdoor pools, and the cool serenity of its spa. Standing like scarlet-clad sentinels, the famous red rocks can be seen as you dine on the poolside terrace at Blue Water Café, just one of Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock’s three eateries – and, although it’s mere minutes from the outdoor adventures the scenery promises (and from shops, restaurants, and galleries) the hotel’s loaded with so many attractions you’ll never need to leave its grounds.

Amazing hotel/ resort. Stayed in 1st floor room with view of red rocks and had a personal fire pit. Bar is lovely and outdoor area with large firepits is awesome - live music while we were there (I think Tues-Sat they have it). This was overall a fairly disappointing hotel. As a Hilton diamond member I have stayed in a lot of Hilton hotels all over the world and this was one of my least favorite of all of their properties. On the plus side, the complementary stargazing on Friday evening was great and our room was quiet at night, so we slept well. They also had laundry for guests, so we were able to wash our clothes easily. The hotel isn’t in Sedona proper, but it was nice to be outside the tourist craziness at the end of the day. The downsides were: 1) the check-in process was incredibly and inexplicably slow. Not only was there not any priority given to those with Hilton Diamond and Gold status, each person who checked in took a very long time. It was over a 25 minute wait to get through five people and when I did get to the front there was no acknowledgment or apology from the hotel staff. 2) the hotel rooms are very dated. I expected more from a Hilton property, especially considering the room was over $600 a night. It felt like an outdated Hampton Inn and not what I expected since it was billed as a high end Sedona resort. 3) I paid for a Bell Rock suite with a view and balcony. I mainly had a view of the parking lot and the “balcony” was a very tight space that I regret paying extra for (see picture). The views are everywhere, so this was a total waste of money. 3) We had to pay $20 a night to park at the hotel. This is a ridiculous junk fee because it’s not a special garage and there’s nowhere else to park. This seemed like a pure undisclosed money grab and added to my frustration. Overall, I hate to not recommend Hilton because I am a loyal customer, but this hotel was way below the mark. There are definitely other places to stay in the area that are preferable for the same price. Read less

Check in was easy using digital key. Our room is out dated. I would say late 1990s vibes. Our room was very spacious, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I slept so good in that bed. We had excellent views from our room 2043. We enjoyed our balcony with stunning views of Sedona’s red rock. We did not eat here at the resort because… Read more

I highly recommend checking out the restaurants that are 5-10 minute drive away. Downtown Sedona was only a 15 min drive from the resort. Read less

Long road trip from East coast to West during mid December 2024, and stopping here just to make sure we used the resort credit on the Aspire. Spent about 80k pts/nite for two nites. Oooh. A resort! And yet, no valet or bellman to help. Off to an inauspicious start. TL;DR: Very very unimpressive. Our king suite (Mountain View) smelled of pot, had muddy footprints in the bathroom, and no sheets on the bed. Trek back down to the desk and got another room, same kind but now ready for habitation. I have a PHEV so asked if they have plugs somewhere. The nice person at desk says no. Actually, there was one in a corner of the lot, fortunately not blocked by other cars. Access to the gym/spa stops at 8p, but they start locking things up at 730p. You have to sign in to even look around, but no one asked me for a room key and I didn't enter my room number on the sign in page. The men/women dressing facilities and hot tub/sauna are separate, which is nice. Huge and well appointed exercise room! Feeling peckish so the two of us went in for dinner. Her salad was a small head of lettuce on a piece of puff pastry: $22. I got mashed sweet potatoes with crispy pork belly, which was good except the dolloped on top an ice cold serving of apple/onion chutney. The temp difference was jarring and unpleasant. Mix them together and you've got a lukewarm dinner. She had two glasses of wine ($22 each for a nine ounce pour that was absolutely not nine ounces) and my Old Fashioned was watery and "sorry we don't have cherries" ($22). Total bill, including tip, about $175 dollars. Outrageous. We'll likely use of the rest of the $200 credit just with one of our two breakfasts. And we have absolutely no intention of eating here for lunch and dinner again. We had just left the beautiful Hyatt in Albuquerque where dinner was much better done and total cost much more reasonable for the two of us. We really wish we had spent more time there instead. ADDENDUM- When I went to check the folio before checkout, Melody at the front desk acknowledged that our room should've been ready at arrival and arranged for many Hilton points to be added to our account. This is very much appreciated, and she deserves a shoutout as being the only staff member who took it upon themselves to think about how to deliver great service. Thanks, Melody! Read less

Housekeeping never visited our room during our 5 day stay. I asked for our room to be cleaned each day and had to track down towels for my family. Each day I was told someone would come, but no one ever did. The service was very disappointing. The hotel itself is conveniently located and upon entry it's clean. I would book a private apartment or house next time due to the lack of service. After all , I typically book a hotel to feel a little pampered on vacation and have clean sheets and towels. Unfortunately this hotel was a disappointment. Read less
