My family and I really loved how the hotel is set up. You enter from the outside, but everybody has an indoor balcony that you access through the back door of your room. There were all sizes of trees in the indoor area that provided more privacy, along with a hot tub and bar area. That bar was not open when we were there, but there were many seats too, sit and talk on the first level. The staff is very kind and helpful. The outdoor pool was closed for the season while we were there so I don’t have an opinion about that. They provide a really great breakfast but it’s not free. It is very affordable though. The buffet was about $12. You can’t even eat at McDonald’s for that in that town. Ultimately, we had a really good time and didn’t spend a ton of money. If you are looking for a cost-effective place to stay to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this is a number one pick in my opinion. It is only a five minute drive to the south entrance of the Grand Canyon national Park. Read less

Unfortunately, the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel did not meet my expectations. Despite its name, it was a motel, not a hotel. The layout was confusing, resembling a maze and making it difficult to navigate. Overall, the experience did not meet my standards.

We had a brief but very good stay here. First, the location - it’s great if you want to visit the Grand Canyon, so close. The room itself was not updated but clean and functional. And then really it’s the people, the staff. All warm and friendly and helpful. We most especially appreciated Susie. She was fantastic in helping us plan our Grand… Read more

We stayed at this hotel before a 4-night family backpacking trip in the Canyon. Minor issues - a missing set of towels meant we had to go back to the front desk which was in a different building; the heater does not have a continuous fan setting when in heat mode; you have to pay extra to get queen beds (which are standard at many motels these days); and the overall value was not what we'd hoped for. Hotel is located 10min max drive from park entrance. Only stayed 2 nights. Good size room, 2 double bed but personally the mattress were too soft for us so didn't sleep as well as we would have liked. Like most hotel showers in the US the showerhead was located to low for me. Small fridge in the room, small bathroom with usual amenities. Only… Read more
