We had 5 nights in Lapita and all 6 of my family absolutely loved it. Having access to the parks a few minutes walk away was ideal. A vast selection of food caters for people from all over the world. We stayed at this lovely Polynesia style hotel for a week as a family of four arriving early on New Years day with a lovely welcome. We had a fantastic break and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all lovely and really went the extra mile to make our stay special. Included in our stay was unlimited access to all the nearby theme parks at anytime (Legoland, Legoland waterpark, Montiongate & Real Madrid world). We visited them all and really enjoyed them. Unlike UK theme parks they were all extremely quiet and there was no wait times at all for any rides. We decided to stay here in order to make use of the theme parks as we had already visited Dubai this year and seen the other side so it worked well for us. If you want to visit other places in Dubai it is quiet easy to do so you can arrange this with the concierge or you can easily order a taxi or they put on a bus each morning which is free for guests and they go to the Dubai Mall, the Emirates Mall, JBR and The Sheraton hotel on Jumeriah beach where you have access to their beach club and I believe that drinks and food are included (however I’m unsure as we didn’t go) but we did take the bus to the Dubai Mall. Make sure you get on the correct bus outside the hotel though unlike us….. We stayed on an all inclusive basis which made sense and if you wanted to eat at the theme parks rather than the hotel you could do so by obtaining a meal ticket from the front desk to use at certain restaurants. There is plenty of choice of drinks and cocktails, both alcoholic and non alcoholic on the all-inclusive package and water is always provided in the room. We had breakfast at the main buffet restaurant which was busy but there was never too long a wait for a table. Breakfast was the usual all inclusive fare of cooked or continental style with an egg station to include freshly made omelettes or eggs cooked to your liking and things like eggs Benedict all of which are served to your table. There was plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and smoked salmon, juices, coffee etc practically everything you need and more. You could also take breakfast in the ball room which was quieter however not sure if they only use this during busy periods. You can have lunch and dinner at either the buffet restaurant, restaurant at the pool or Hikina, the Asian restaurant. We only ate at the buffet once (apart from breakfast) and found the food to be great and varied with something for everyone and if there was something you wanted from another restaurant they would get it for you. They were so hospitable nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to chef Nitin who looked after us extremely well and went out of his way to make sure everything was ok for our son and his allergies. The kids loved the buffet as there was a stage with shows which kept them entertained. We ate at the pool restaurant a couple of times, the food was also great there if you fancied burgers, sandwiches or pizzas. Our favourite restaurant though was Hikina. Both the food and service was amazing! The staff worked so hard and made us feel so welcome. They had some great curry and rice dishes and amazing sushi. The waitress Regina was a star and really looked after us. She was so polite and friendly and worked really hard. Sahil is the best Sushi chef ever! When he found out that we were big sushi fans he made us a special platter and on our last night made an ever bigger spectacular platter with some of the most amazing sushi with Scottish salmon, soft shell crab, blue fin tuna, eel and scallops! A lot of effort and hard work went into the platters and it showed how dedicated and passionate he was. He delivered it to our table specially and talked us through what each type of sushi was. I cannot thank Sahil & Regina enough for making our family feel so welcomed, they even waited for us to arrive on the final evening as we were a little late in returning from one of the theme parks. We only used the swimming pools once on the first day. They have a big main pool, a child’s pool and a lazy river, all of which are great. The resort is well structured and compact enough to walk around however if you want you can also take a ride in one of the golf cart style buggies to take you around the resort to to Riverland which is the start of where the theme parks are located. The bedroom was spacious with 2 double beds, a large bathroom with a nice shower and a big balcony with a seating area with a great view of the fireworks! Whilst we were there it was our son’s 10th birthday and the hotel went above and beyond to make his day special! They decorated the room with balloons and chocolate cake and made a cake out of a towel! They also made him a special dessert at the Hikina restaurant and brought it out to the table singing ‘happy birthday’. There is also an outdoor play area for children with a screen that shows children movies in the early evening and a children’s club but we didn’t use this. I would absolutely recommend a stay here if you are planning to visit the theme parks, we had a great time at this hotel and the staff make it feel special, thank you so much! Read less
