A Disappointing Stay at Jumeirah Al Naseem – Far from a True 5-Star Experience Our family of four traveled from the UK to Dubai for medical reasons during the Christmas holidays, ensuring our kids wouldn't miss school. For our 17-night stay, we chose to split the experience between the Four Seasons Jumeirah (10 nights) and Jumeirah Al Naseem (7 nights). While the price points are comparable, the experiences were vastly different. After a flawless stay at the Four Seasons (which I’ll review separately), we checked into Jumeirah Al Naseem with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience fell short from the moment we arrived. Check-In: A Rocky Start The front desk staff lacked the polish and professionalism one expects at this level. Simple questions about the resort required them to consult supervisors, revealing a lack of training and familiarity. Later, I learned many staff were interns, which explained the lack of expertise. Room Issues: A Cascade of Disappointments We were assigned a ground-floor room near the Talise Fitness Centre. The location proved problematic for several reasons: Construction Site Chaos: The room was at the end of a hall near an active construction zone. To reach it, we had to navigate dust and noise. Outside, a pungent oil smell (likely from a kitchen extractor) made the area unbearable. Health Concerns Ignored: As my children suffer from allergies, this environment was not just inconvenient but hazardous. Despite explaining the medical nature of our trip, the staff’s response was dismissive. When I raised these concerns, I was initially told the construction was an “emergency.” However, I later learned it was for a planned prayer room, which felt like a breach of trust. They offered to relocate us but claimed the hotel was fully booked. By the next day, they found another room, but the damage was done—our stay was cut short, and we opted to leave a day early. Refund Request Mishandled Given the circumstances, I requested a refund for the unused night (£2500), but was directed to Booking.com. Despite initiating the process, no response was ever received from the resort. It’s baffling that such a simple request—especially for a guest already dissatisfied—was so poorly handled. Subpar Housekeeping and Communication The housekeeping service was average at best, falling short of the standard expected at a 5-star property. Compounding the issues, the New Year’s Eve gala dinner (included in our rate) was a logistical nightmare: Initial arrangements changed without proper notification. Staff failed to send promised email details. On the day, after multiple reminders, we finally received the necessary invitation card—only to be told upon arrival that we weren’t on the list. After 20 minutes of confusion and waiting outside, we were finally admitted. This lack of internal communication between staff was astonishing and deeply frustrating. Final Thoughts For a resort at this price point, the experience at Jumeirah Al Naseem was riddled with issues that highlight serious operational flaws. From untrained staff and poor communication to inadequate problem resolution, the resort failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a luxury stay. In stark contrast, the Four Seasons set the gold standard with impeccable service and attention to detail. If you’re spending this kind of money, do yourself a favor and book with a truly established 5-star property like the Four Seasons, where your experience will be valued, and your concerns addressed. Disappointing Experience at Jumeirah Al Naseem I recently stayed at Jumeirah Al Naseem, and while the hotel boasts a beautiful location and elegantly designed rooms, my overall experience was disappointing due to poor customer care. Despite the high occupancy rate, it is reasonable to expect attentive service and guest consideration, but that was unfortunately lacking. Simple requests such as arranging twin beds or securing rooms close to one another were met with delays and required multiple follow-ups. The staff, though polite on the surface, often displayed an air of indifference, making it clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority. It felt as though the hotel operated under the assumption that guests need them more than they value our business, a sentiment reinforced by dismissive attitudes and unfulfilled promises. Fortunately, Dubai offers many exceptional alternatives. I highly recommend Royal Atlantis, Address Beach Resort, Armani Dubai, and Kempinski Emirates Mall — all of which consistently provided excellent service and treated me as a valued guest during my stays. If you prioritize genuine hospitality and respect for your time, I would suggest exploring these other options before considering Jumeirah Al Naseem. Read less
