At the airport feeling sad we had to leave after a perfect 10 days at this hotel. From arrival, welcomed with a refreshing drink, where hotel facilities were explained right through to departure, it is a slick system so well managed, we were made to feel like valued guests the whole time. Food - all amazing - the buffet at la Pirogue is very good at breakfast and dinner with a wide choice to suit every pallet. We tried the Coconut cafe - recommend the fish curry here, delicious, and Le Morne fish restaurant where they spoiled is as we were celebrating a birthday. We were all-inclusive, and the availability and variety of food and drinks is more than enough. The housecred wine- South African is delicious. there is no need to buy non inclusive expensive wine. Great range of watersports, we used pedallos, windsurfing, paddle boards and snorkeling and one of the group, already an experienced diver, joined the diving- all the staff were so helpful and kind and such a pleasure to chat to. All of the staff are amazing and we met too many to mention them all but special praise to Jimmy who waited on us at the Friday beach BBQ - an absolute must! - and also at the fish restaurant- good luck young man in whatever you do. At the beach bar Blessed and Ezekiel, at breakfast Ferose, Sophie and Kissan, the lovely lady who cleaned our room daily - i didnt get your name sorry but we were 97/98 week beg 13th and 20th jan. Special mention to all the chefs in the buffet restaurant working tirelessly to feed so many people especially the yummy omlettes at breakfast! We did trips out to the South East Tea route, 5 islands by boat and to Cavela Park all really worrh it. We booked through Travel Republin in the UK who i would recommend, and they linked with Coquille Bonheur, who did the airport tranfers and also arranged our day trips. In summary, we had the best time and will definitely return for another slice of paradise. Read less

The food at Coconut Cafe is truly excellent. I came for dinner and had the Baby Octopus as a starter and the Fish Curry as a main. The Octopus was incredibly soft and melted in my mouth. I was well served by the whole team: Daavinen, Yohan, Suman, Sandil and Amelia 😊 It is worth coming here!

Where to start? Having travelled the world, I can strongly state that La Pirogue was simply one of the most incredible places to stay. The bungalows are incredible, spacious, with soft & clean, mini-bar, coffee machine, mosquito plug in's - you name it, they were equipped. The proximity to the beach with its clean sands, sun loungers, free water activities, mini-golf, tennis court & badminton court is second to none! Wolmar restaurant was beyond our expectations, the quality and range of food on offer each day included fresh fish, a meat roast (Venison/Lamb/Chicken/Beef), pasta station, curry & a huge salad station. But this wasn't all, it varied day to day, for example one day included a fresh sushi station, another day included grilled seafood . The attention to detail on each dish and the endless smiles from the chefs were simply extraordinary. On a side note, the lamb & potato curry was that good I asked for the recipe! We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and they invited us to a special & incredible meal at the seafood restaurant with a personalised menu and even delivered a bottle of prosecco + canapes to our bungalow. The attentiveness of each and every member of staff will always stay with me. Each member of staff deserves a thank you for their exceptional service and their above and beyond attitude but a special thanks to Jimmy who made our anniversary meal something to be remembered. There was only a few downsides, one being La Morne beach bar where service was very slow and food was returned twice due to being cold. Secondly was the cost of alcohol, £70 for a bottle of wine is rather steep and thirdly being charged for water despite being HB. Would we return? In a heartbeat! Read less
