Just returned from a fantastic, relaxing stay at Meeru. From the moment you arrive to the moment you unfortunately have to leave, everything was very well organised. All of the staff were professional, welcoming and happy. We stayed in a Beach Villa, which was great. Plenty of storage space, bed and pillows very, very comfortable and then the bathroom under cover and the shower open air was so well designed. Great experience showering under the sky! You just stepped out onto the veranda and within 10 seconds you were on the beach. As other people have commented, you can literally walk around the island barefoot. We walked around the island in the mornings and took about 40 minutes, though much of this time was spent stopping and just looking at the colour of the water against the white soft sand. The photos really don't do the beauty of the island justice. We couldn't stop looking and smiling at how perfect it was. Many times we saw fish including small sharks and a stingray in the shallow water. There are so many sunbeds placed around the whole island, there was never any concern about finding one on our own. You never feel as though you are next to anyone else which makes it even more relaxing. We were Full board and were offered to upgrade to All Inclusive when we arrived. It seemed very expensive to do this so we just stayed with Full Board which allowed you to eat in the main restaurant and drink water. This worked well for us as it is so warm, water was all we wanted to drink in the day anyway. In the evening we went to the bar and had beer and a cocktail which still worked out way cheaper than going All Inclusive. They do offer deals in the bar for bottles of beer. You order 4 bottles of beer for the price of 3 basically but they allow you to drink them on different days so you don't have to drink them all in one go. We went on the Free Snorkelling trip which goes 3 times a day. This was good and if you forget to bring a snorkel you can hire them from the Dive Centre for a surprisingly good price. The staff in the Dive Centre were just as friendly and helpful as the staff everywhere. For the meals we ate in the main Farivalhu restaurant. Breakfast was really good with a vast selection of anything you may want. They even had English style Bacon and HP Sauce! Lunch was good also with always plenty of selection with fresh fruit and salad. Dinner was also good and every night they had a different theme (Italian, Asian, Maldivian, Mexican etc). This was nice as it kept thing varied and stopped it from getting boring. We met some great members of staff in the restaurant - Ahmed, Ismail and Mustapha to name a few. All very welcoming and efficient. We do think that the resort is just about perfect in every way, and apart from the sheer beauty of the place the main reason is the staff. It would appear that Meeru really look after them well. We walked past the staff living area, where they have sports facilities, swimming pool, social club and a mosque. Ahmed, who we spoke to in the restaurant told us he had been there for 25 years, so they must be treating the staff well. Overall, a fantastic place and we would recommend to anyone and everyone Read less

Everything is amazing. The snorkelling around the island is beautiful, the water 100% pristine, the food is way better than in most resorts, and the personnel is highly trained and is very helpful. Experience 10/10! I would (hopefully will) definetely come back!

Beautiful Meeru, quiet island with delicious food. At this time we stayed at beach villas. Very cozy and clean. Housekeepers every day and always clean. Recommended "all inclusive" since food is variable and tasty. Excellent services. We will go back🥰

Wonderful holidays in Meeru Island Resort, white sand, pristine beaches, exquisite food, warm and friendly staff. It was my first time in the Maldives and the choice of the hotel was difficult. But how right was I and how lucky to have found Meeru! We stayed in 2 Beach Villas on the eastern side of the island, just on the eastern beach which was windy and the ocean wavy this year, but with magnificent spots for snorkelling. The western beach was calm with turquoise and still waters. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with very good wi-fi and continuous air con, open air bathrooms and huge french doors opening on the beach with its blue waters. The sea is a constant 27 degrees and wonderfully turquoise even when the skies are angry or during the rainy or cloudy days. We got a few of those even if it’s the dry season and normally this was unexpected weather. The island is a tropical paradise and this is the most important asset. It's not excessively or artificially manicured, the tropical forest still looks natural, with lush green vegetation, fragrant flowers and coconut trees. It has a very natural feel to it and it's discreetly cared for without the excess of care other Maldivian resorts seem to have. But besides this, there is the exquisite, delicious and varied food, owing to the Italian Masterchef, whose touch is unmistakable. Never have I experienced a buffet restaurant this good, a gourmet experience in itself. We never felt the need to explore the à la carte restaurants, maybe next time we visit :) The second asset are the people, the staff, the facilitators of wonderful vacations, people so friendly and warm, eager to please and genuinely kind that we felt welcomed and pampered like in no other place. No question or problem was too big, in a few minutes a solution was found. From the reception, to room service or waiting staff, everyone was amazing and kind. There are a few people I have to mention from the Maalan restaurant: Ithaaf who welcomed us every day with kindness and in good humour, always remembering our preferences, Ali - a bundle of joy and optimism who enlightened our days with his positive attitude and Dilhara, with his radiant smile, discreet and always caring for our needs. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation! S. Popoviciu and family. Read less
