We stayed in the resort branch of the hotel. When we got to our room at close to midnight, it was smaller than the room images we saw online. We stayed in the resort branch of the hotel. When we got to our room at close to midnight, it was smaller than the room images we saw online. The water would not drain from the sink and the shower door gasket was installed wrong resulting in water leaking across the floor. They sent maintenance and we were comped a free breakfast and moved to another room. The next day the HVAC in the new room lost power. Maintenance came and fixed it by resetting a breaker somewhere. The miniature golf course and outdoor pool table were in bad shape. I learned from staff the "resort" wing is 30 years old. It seems like this part was a regular motel remodeled to seem resorty. My advice, if you have to come to this complex, is to stay at the tower part of the facility. It is newer and sharper. Read less

This hotel is DISGUSTING. It was very clear upon arrival that our room had not been properly cleaned. When we peeled back the sheets, it was clear that the bed had been made without the sheets being cleaned. What looked like blood or something red was all over the sheets. We moved hotels immediately, but were still charged for the night (even… Read more

We moved hotels immediately, but were still charged for the night (even though we did not even stay the night)! The customer service from the front desk was terrible and unprofessional. To say that we were disappointed in our experience would be an understatement. Read less

I returned from Miami and spent the last three days at this hotel before traveling back to Dubai. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The hotel rooms are outdated, with worn carpets that smell musty, and the AC seemed to be from the 1960s. It felt more like a one-star. On the positive side, the staff was great, and check-in was quick. However, the breakfast was subpar—mass-produced and more like something you'd find in a cafeteria. Based on my experience, I won't be returning or recommending this hotel. Read less

Double Tree had a very good breakfast, nice customer service people, and convenient to attractions but I payed extra to have a bigger room with a view for the fireworks on new years. The windows were so dirty you could not see them very well at all. There was gum stuck on the bathroom floor. The lotion dispenser was falling off the wall. The furniture was awful. I went into the bathroom down stairs and there was a broken dope pipe in the stall. On top of that they only have two shuttles a day going to universal. Miss it and you'll pay $30 for your vehicle to be in the Doubletree parking lot and then another 20 something dollars to park at universal. Stay at a regular motel or a universal resort motel. You will come out cheaper in the end for the express passes and have a much better time. Also the water stunk so when you took a bath your debate and lotion to cover up the smell of the water Read less

I went to FL at the worst time. It was cold. The Doubletree is overall okay. This location needs some serious remodeling. The room is spacious, but the bathroom is small! The shower is old; the water isn’t temperature-controlled, so it changes from hot to cold. The phone is outdated and doesn’t have a front desk button. No one answered for the bottoms: bell services, care services, concierge, nothing. The worst of it all: THE GROUND FLOOR SMELLED LIKE SWEAGE. No matter which entrance, it just stank. They temporarily plugged in an automated air freshener, but it was only at the door, so as soon as you walked past the door, the stench smacked you back into reality. The walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everything. (🍆) So I bought earplugs. Forget about a midday nap; housekeeping is on the phone, slamming doors, and talking loudly. The earplugs didn't work that well. Speaking of housekeeping, only one of the seven days was my room actually cleaned. Often, trash was left behind, new towels were given but not taken, and No One knew how to make a bed. Next parking, ... let's just say I got my steps in every day. Food: Laguna breakfast 4/10; lunch/dinner 6/10. When I passed, no one was ever at the market or an employee at the ice cream shop. The only thing that kept me there was the view of the fireworks at Sea World. My room was perfectly placed, so on New Year's, I saw four to five different shows at once. It was like the whole city line was lit with sparkles. Despite the terrible facilities, the front desk staff were polite and helpful. The cookies were fresh and on-demand, so some light was in the dark tunnel. Read less
