We spent 2 nights at Avanti International Resort prior to a cruise and came back for a night after the cruise. The resort is older but clean and well functioning. We spent 2 nights at Avanti International Resort prior to a cruise and came back for a night after the cruise. The resort is older but clean and well functioning. The rooms are comfortable and clean,with a small fridge and a microwave oven. The pool area was clean with food and drink available at the Cafe and an outside bar. Damien at the front desk was excellent to deal with and handled a few minor issues I had, very competently including an offer to personally print ship boarding docs as the hotel printer went out of toner as I was using it. Damien was calm and professional dealing with an irate customer who happened to be in front of me and obviously wanted someone to scream at. Read less

He also made sure our room location was on the side closest to the venue we were walking to. Now there were a few "snags" with the room but you, me and those "who know", it's not the Ritz Carlton! Damien was super nice and friendly and was very helpful. Damien made our stay worth while. He understood our needs and accommodated us accordingly. We definitely will be using Avanti again for our stays as needed and recommend it to our friends and family. Keep up the great work

They say renovated. Nope. Just a coat of paint. And the employees add to what will be your misery. Pros: location and large rooms Cons: attitudes at front desk-not wanting to help guests. They will tell you you can have late check out, and will answer ‘yes’ when you ask if that means housekeeping will know. The answer is no! Keys turn off and housekeeping starts banging at 10:55. And even if you tell them you’re a late check out or you extended, 2 more will come knocking and barging thru your door. Another thing to note…housekeeping is loud. I mean yelling in hallway outside your door. Slamming furniture around in rooms they clean. And consistent slamming of doors. They do not care. Also, I went down to extend my room and while standing there the clerk (last name Arroyo, I think) took phone call after call while checking me in. I will admit I continued to tell her ‘It’s OK I don’t mind’ when she would apologize, but I was def taken advantage of, to the point the nice girl next to her kept looking at me seeming to not believe she kept doing this. I’m talking more than 40 mins. I’m here for chemo treatments so standing there was tough, but the job got done, so ok. At some point customer svc must matter, you might think… Back to front desk…a gentleman inquired about shuttle to Universal. He was on time and bus was sitting at stop for hotel. Girl at desk pointed him to concierge, which was closed. She noticed and said ‘they went home’ to which he replied ‘so I can’t go?’ She said ‘no cause they left.’ The bus was waiting for people?! She was just short with people and didn’t want to be there. -Beds are horrible. NO FITTED SHEETS, sunken in mattresses…you can feel springs. -window faces halls so everyone who walks by stares into your room. There’s a see thru shade but our room didn’t have one. -NOISE NOISE NOISE -no late checkout, even though they tell you ‘OK!’ Housekeeping will knock then stare at you like you’ve done something wrong. -no smart tvs so you can’t access subscriptions. ملاحظة: If your in room phone works, the button that says front desk does not connect. You have to dial 5001, and day shift won’t answer. You have to call the direct # and hit zero. If this is OK, then yes, it’s a good value. But I wouldn’t choose it again.
