Excellent hotel in a superb location !

We had previously stayed at the W the other side of Miami which was convenient for the boat show, but decided to try the South Beach location this time and were not disappointed . We booked through our London concierge as a 4 day pre cruise trip as they had preferential terms and our room upgrade was honoured on arrival . We had a fabulous room with beach views on a high floor which was superb . Particular praise goes to the excellent concierge service provided by Ashley Klassen who was excellent at booking several restaurants ( Joes Crab , Hakassan and others ) as well as providing complimentary hotel transport for us . We really enjoyed our stay here , the hotel has excellent dining service and the staff were friendly in all areas. I would not hesitate in recommending this luxury hotel . I have stayed at this property several times in the last several years as a Marriott Elite Member and each time the service continues to go downhill. This past stay for my birthday no less the couple in the room next door openly used illicit drugs on their balcony on a regular basis. In the morning, during the day and in the evening. We made pleas with the staff to take care of this illegal activity and always felt like the ones on trial and having to defend ourselves. Security did nothing, management finally booked us in another room after a lot of back and forth and so much wasted time. All they mostly offered was a cocktail for our inconvenience- we are non drinkers- a complete joke. I felt disrespected as a paying repeat guest with no apologies and having to beg for some kind of reparation. It was a horrible experience. Don’t stay here if you want to enjoy a drug free atmosphere. Read less

The W South Beach is a beautiful hotel located on the beach in the heart of South Beach. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the nicest baggage assistant named Joe. We checked in (room wasn't ready because we had an early flight) and Justin at the front desk was so nice and helpful. The hotel provides a very nice changing facility so we had lunch poolside and enjoyed the beautiful day. Once our room was ready, we were pleasantly surprised to have a beautiful room on the top floor with a stunning beach and city view. The room was well stocked and cleaned twice a day (I will say the. mini bar is the most expensive I've seen. If the prices were slightly lower I think they would sell more). We ate at Wet, the poolside restaurant and the breakfast buffet was great. I was surprised to find that there was no charge on the beach for two lounges and an umbrella (not sure if they charge for more chairs) and the service on the beach was also excellent. One day we walked down Ocean Drive and had brunch at News Cafe which was very good. Dinners were a short Uber ride away. The concierges were helpful. The only downside is the entrance to the hotel is a little underwhelming, especially compared to other hotels, but I would highly recommend the W South Beach. Read less

Judlande francois made our time at the pool even more incredible!! Thank you, Judlande! Such incredible hospitality and service! It’s hard to come by this level of high quality service, we will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend!
