The room had a cheap ac unit in the window but a thermostat on the wall that said error the whole stay. The floor was peeling up and it was a fall risk. The resort fees were ridiculous. You might think you need to be right down town, but the shuttle was super easy and convenient. It dropped us off at/near the marina …. The concierge was very helpful and gave us several coupons for free drinks, meal discounts and free key lime pie at various places in town. Two doors down is a Publix grocery store which is a plus should you have real world needs. The Cuban theme from food to cigars is fun. The open air cigar bar is separate from the pool and Tiki bar. Our room was not on the pool/ bar side, which would have been fun but our rooms were fine and less expensive. Oh and the free sunglasses with the hotel name is a unique souvenir. Fantastic Stay at Habana Cabana, Key West – January 2025 My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Habana Cabana in Key West this January. The hotel’s decor and vibe were absolutely fantastic, giving off a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. We really enjoyed the outdoor area, with various games set up by the pool for guests to enjoy. The hotel was impeccably clean, both inside and out. Our rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the linens always felt fresh, making it easy to relax. The staff throughout the property were all incredibly welcoming and friendly, which really enhanced our experience. We appreciated the communication via text before and during our stay, keeping us informed of important details and updates, which made things even more convenient. A standout feature was the shuttle service to downtown, making it so much easier to explore Key West without worrying about parking. The shuttle to downtown Key West was convenient, and the resort’s location provided the best of both worlds—close to the action but peacefully tucked away. The only downside was that NYE didn’t have much going on at the resort, and they ran out of beer, which was disappointing. Late-night food options were slim, too. The do not disturb sign was made of thin paper, useless!. Get wet or blown away. Front door cannot be completely closed. Shuttle service to and back from downtown was convenient but don’t forget to ask what time the last call is. And don’t forget to tip. Read less
