Great hotel. We stayed at the two bedroom villa. It exceeded my expectations. The villa pool (2007) was wonderful, including jacuzzi jets and two stone tools with a table to enjoy some snacks and drinks whenever you want. The service was exceptional, answering every need within minutes (or seconds). Ample spaces inside, sauna, turkish bath, two outside showers, just perfect. Decoration, lightining, scents, very besutiful garden, I just wanted to stay there forever. The hotel facilities are also very good, three pools (i prefered pool 2, with a bar and cascades and a reasonable size). We went to all restaurants and bars (except the tin Syndicate), and I fully recommend the wonderful Rebar, not much visited by hotel guests (go and have a drink there after dinner). The Tin Mine is also very good to have lunch or dinner. Tom Yam is not my kind of food, so I cannot fully appreciate the Black Ginger. Careful when you ask for the meat either at the Rivet or On the Shore: medium is not a cook point they fully get (they cook it too fast, so its well cooked outside and rather rare in the middle, we had to ask at both places to send it back to cook the tenderloin more. Excellent breakfast with many options. The service again is excperional, everyone is there to make yo have a wonderful time. I’d love to be back. Read less

Wow! What an amazing hotel and experience ! We stayed here for 6 nights in a Pearl Bed suite and it was lovely. The suites are very spacious having been been knocked into one so you have a fabulous walk in bathroom with separate toilet (there is a curtain rather than a door but there is a door on the bathroom ). One small point is that because of the theme of the hotel everything is very industrial and the amenities in the bathroom come in glass bottles which could be a bit dangerous if broken. A large walk in wardrobe with loads of space. Lovely big bed with an outside or inside bath tub and a balcony with day bed. I wouldn’t bother upgrading unless you really want to as everything is great. We ate at black ginger twice and that is a great experience. the hotel has two back entrances with restaurants on the beach. Breakfast was fabulous! So much choice 2 omelette and egg stations with European and Asian food to choose from. The pools were lovely lots of beds and towels for beach and pool available. Staff on hand for anything you need and great happy hours throughout the hotel starting at 2pm through to 8pm at different pools or bars. It takes a little getting used to the size of the resort but once you have it’s great as even if it’s full it doesn’t seem it. A lovely stay in one of our top hotels. Thank you to all the hard working staff. Read less

This hotel is somewhat overated. Let me begin by saying I was deceived by the pictures they've posted on their website. The landscaping looks nothing close to what they have on social media. The grass is unkept, weeds everywhere, flowers withering, dead shrubs and leaves all over the place. Looking at their landscape was really painful. Next - they really need to train ALL their staff to speak basic english. Everytime we ask for something, there's always a miscommunication. Eg - When I ask for cutleries, they bring me a mug. When I ask for 2 sets of scrambled eggs (and I repeated several times that I wanted 2 sets, meaning 2 plates of scrambled eggs), they always prepare 1 set. And this happened for 5 days in a row. Or if I ask for 3 pieces of towel, they bring 1 piece. Or if I asked for a few pieces of plastic bags to place my dirty clothes in, they give 1 laundry bag. They also need to work on their efficiency. Eg - When I call a buggy, I always have to wait a minimum of 10 minutes. And then the driver comes, he picks us up but when he drives us to the lobby, he'll always stop to have a small chat with one of the staff who's delivering food, or passing by (which was just annoying). And when we booked a session to play tennis, no one was there to unlock the gates during the time slot. We headed to the gym to see if anyone was there, and no one was in the gym. So we had to call reception and wait for 20 minutes for someone to turn up to unlock the tennis court gate. And the surface of the court is awful. If you play competitively, you won't enjoy these courts. Then when we were having drinks at the sports bar, I asked if they could change the channel so we could watch the Australian Open, and it took the staff there forever to figure out how the remote worked. In the end I helped myself to change the channel. It's all these small little things which is just annoying. We paid good money for our rooms. And don't get me wrong, the staff are nice but that's not compensation for their poor service/lack of training. My issue with this hotel is mainly trivial, but the problem is the trivial items stack up and I can't accept them for the price they are charging. Read less

From suite, to food to service and ultimately to the fantastic staff. They were so thoughtful (even if they did forget my big birthday, to be fair trailfindes may not have passed the message on 🙃). I can forgive them anything as they looked after us and the resort so well. The beach is only a short walk from the hotel and there are plenty of little eateries and juice bars to tickle your taste buds. But there is so much choice at the slate you may not want to. Black ginger is a real treat 😋 As first timers we will be back and will save the slate for our home journey leg, so we end the holiday on a high. Thank you the slate team, see you next year 🙏. This is the most beautiful resort Luxury and service are top notch We have been to Phuket many times and nai yang is perfect for us A short commute from The airport Many massage and eating places around We spent most of our time at the main pool as we were travelling with a 12 year old who made friends in the pool The kids club was great too with many activities being run The gym was busy but I loved Carmen who took some amazing classes at 8٫30 am Ian at the pool was very kind and bought water and fruit sticks around and relayed my dietary requirements to the kitchen Food at breakfast is 10/10 Coffee can be busy but it’s fantastic Cheap food available outside the resort We ate at the pool bar area twice at night and enjoyed the cocktails at the bar which had a singer a number of times Would absolutely love to visit again next year Pack repellant and use it Read less
