The hotel

Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camp, Elephant Hills, combines the camp aspect of an East African safari with the Thai tropical rainforest. Located in Khao Sok National Park, Elephant Hills is just a couple of hours north of Phuket or Krabi and with complimentary transfers from most beach hotels in the region, it’s an easy combination and an unmissable experience. We are proud to support the unique elephant experience where you can feed and interact with these magnificent creatures, an award-winning programme that puts elephant welfare, education and conservation at the heart of what they do.

Hotel information

The Elephant Camp is the main camp with 66 spacious tents with 1 king-size or 2 double beds sleeping a family of 4 people, with 2 adults and 2 children. All tents are bugproof and have electricity, en-suite bathroom with toilet, shower and hot/cold water and a fan. Dinners include movie presentations, dance and cooking demonstrations to keep you entertained and there is even WiFi to show all those at home what they’re missing.

The Lake Camp is the newest addition to Elephant Hills. There are 20 rainforest tents each with 1 queen-size bed, or twin beds, sleeping 2 adults and 1 child. They are located over the Cheow Larn Lake, making it one of the only floating tented camps in the world. The spectacular lakes are surrounded by rainforest and towering limestone cliffs. Designed to be at one with nature, the camp is powered by wind and solar energy and uses responsible waste management, so no WiFi here, just total peace and relaxation.

Full Board includes: breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the activities in the itinerary. Soft drinks and alcohol are available at extra charge.

Restaurant and bar. Swimming pool. Evening entertainment includes traditional Thai dances from local school children, film documentaries and Thai cooking demonstrations. What an experience, feeding and ineracting with the Elephants, such a magical feeling. The camp at Elephant Hills is great, some might find it a bit basic but remember where you are. The tents are very well equiped and have comfortable beds and decent bathroom facilities. The food is very good with plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The transfer to see the Elephants is about half an hour, on arrival we were in awe of these magnificent creatures, so gentle, such a shame we only had about one and half hours with them. The kayak ride back to our transport was an experince seeing monkeys, snakes frogs etc. The following dat transferred to the jungle camp, again the tents were very comfortable with the same facilities as the previous camp. You acn get involed with prganised activities or just please yourself swimming, kayaking of paddling boading on the lake. A fantastic experience with amazing views and great company, if you are in the area you must arrange a trip, you are in for a treat. Read less

Rooms are Tents situated around the site. Very comfortable with all you need we the exception of AC and fridge. We enjoyed our stay and met some lovely people. The staff are all amazing very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. There are a few things I thought may be different. We are lucky to have experienced a more hand's on elephant experience where we walked with them and washed them. I also thought that the elephant would be on site rather than have to drive to them as the Name wound suggested. The other activities are all one hour away and then another one hour by boat. The long tail boats are rather uncomfortable for Weston backs and bottoms. Regarding that I would also like to see a more comfortable area to sit, when back at the lodge rather than long beach seats. Most or are lovely group where the same age and some older than out 57 years also expressed the same feelings. If it's you 1st time this place is very good and eco friendly Read less
