We did not enjoy our stay at the Grand Mirage at all. The hotel is in severe need of renovations and just gave an overall feel of being old and tired. We were booked to stay 4 nights and we left after the first night to move somewhere else. It was non-refundable but we decided we'd prefer to leave than be unhappy staying there. The room: We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in the Family Paradise section. The suite itself was fine but the rooms are tired and need some updating. Every time we shut our front door some plasterboard would fall down from the doorframe and hit the floor. The shower in the main bathroom leaked through flooding the bathroom floor even when trying to actively manage it. The living area had so much furniture in it you couldn't walk around, we had to rearrange and push the furniture to the wall to make room to walk. Kids club: I've read other comments saying the kids club area is great but it is very tired and again just very sad. We had high hopes of letting our kids go there but after seeing it we did not feel right leaving them there. It definitely needs upgrading. The food: Terrible and expensive. We ate some amazing food while in Bali but Grand Mirage does not have this. We did not opt for the all inclusive and i'm so glad as it would not have been worth it. The food that we ate was over priced and the quality was bad. The buffet breakfast in the main building, while it had a large variety of food - most of it did not look good and what we ate was not good. The staff: The staff were very friendly and helpful but I put this down to all Balinese people just being the most amazing and lovely people. Overall, I would not recommend staying here. But after reading all of the positive comments here, it seems to be good for other people. It was the low of our holiday. Read less

We travelled with a large group (8 adults, 9 children) staying at the Family paradise - ground floor rooms with easy pool access. I was very impressed with the rooms, having a separate kids bunk/trundle room and kids sized bathroom was so convenient! Kids club was excellent and we enjoyed a lot of the activities - animal show, foam party, kids yoga etc. The kids pool also had spontaneous free snacks for kids in the afternoon at times - fairy floss, fruit kebabs , gelato. Breakfast was excellent and again geared for kids with marshmallows etc on offer. I loved the daily yoga classes at the main resort section , they even had stand up paddleboard yoga ! Aqua aerobics, volleyball and lots of other fun activities. We did go between both resorts for meals and swimming pools (2 min walk or free shuttle if raining ) , in the end we preferred the air-conditioned breakfast (although smaller selection) at the Family building. I am not the type of traveller who just stays at the resort - there were actually a lot of shops on the main street , day spas, laundry services , tailor, supermarkets and Bumbu Bali restaurant/cooking school which is a must-visit place for authentic Balinese food. Also a shuttle bus to the local mall. It is further away from a lot of attractions, around 45 mins to Jimbaran and Kuta depending on traffic. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Free water filter stations so you can refill. We didn't do the all inclusive package as we were doing a few day trips. I didn't really enjoy the food at the hotel (except for breakfast) as it was expensive and always seemed to take ages and limited menu by the pool . Room service was excellent though. They are building a lazy river to be completed in March - resort will be even more awesome when this is done! Downsides - kids club has waterslide park area but this is not separated by a fence and made me too anxious to leave my kids there - my 3yo could easily unlock the sliding door and walk towards the pool by himself Read less

This is just an outstanding resort with one major problem (see below) We booked a family suite in the family paradise building . This is a two room suite with two beds and a sofa in one room for the kids and a king bed. Plenty of room for everyone. We were there during wet season and so it rained a bit during our stay. We never felt though like we didn't have anything to do. The kids still swam and they loved the kids club (kids 8 & 11). All inclusive meant we could leave the kids to themselves most of the time as they could order food when needed. This made for a very relaxing parental holiday! The kids facilities are great: - Two resort pools (one with water slide) - Kids club at Family Paradise which our kids loved and had awesome staff (sorry I lost your names!) - Teens club / games room at the main resort (all the games are FREE) - Organised activities suitable for older kids / adults which we all loved - Water Volleyball, soccer, water polo, etc - Building a new lazy river (not yet open) There was always something to do for the kids even in wet weather. The food was great: - Breakfast in either Family Paradise or the main resort had a broad selection of balinese, western, chinese & Indian. There was also a large selection of menu items you could order (eg eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles, etc. There was literally never a time you could go wanting at breakfast. Barista coffee was good and included. - Lunch. With all-inclusive we could get lunch from any open restaurant - the main restaurants, chinese, Indian, Jakung Grill, pool-side or room service. They always set up a buffet in the main restaurant for lunch which had a different theme each day. The buffet food was generally of very high quality (surprising I guess I'm a foodie and know good food when I see it). You could also order anything from the menu. Sometimes our kids had a bit of both. - Dinner - again any open restaurant The Jakung Grill is the best restaurant with the menu prices a little higher than others (though included in all inclusive). The seafood and steaks were excellent. The Chinese is also excellent. We throroughly enjoyed a meal there. We didn't go to Indian. - Theme Buffets - Each night they had a theme buffet in the main restaurant with entertainment. Again the food was of very high quality. The pasta patticularly was outstanding. Free made, cooked al dente, I was in heaven. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss but the kids generally enjoyed it. It would have been better if the dinners were at the stage instead of inside the main restaurrant but the weather was too variable during our stay. - Drinks - All inclusive cocktails, beer and wine, juices, tea, coffee, softdrinks. All Balinese. Foreign drinks are included after 9pm in the panorama lounge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. All inclusive is expensive, but it makes life so much easier and the on-site food was excellent. I didn't feel I'd get anything better from another restaruant outside the gate unless I went particularly high end. Service was great and meals were served quickly. They didn't try and "nickle and dime us" either on the all inclusive. We arrived early and checked out late. There was never any suggestion that the inclusions would stop / only provided for a particular time. One complaint is the lack of the foam party. This was scheduled for Wednesday / Saturday during our stay buit was cancelled both days due to rain. There are signs up saying it will be moved to the next day if the weather causes cancellation, but this didn't happen and even though we stayed a week we didn't get to participate. The kids were particularly looking forward to this. The major issue is the WiFi. It simply doesn't work most of the time across the resort. It's so badly underspecced that it was difficult to connect to anything most of the time. I'd come from two other resorts in Bali before this and the WiFi was perfect - worked everywhere and never a dropout. This is simply unacceptable in a 5 star resort. Read less

The hotel was good, but what made our stay was the Thalasso spa. Derai and Sumari are the ultimate professionals of their craft, and made my husband and I feel comfortable and relaxed. We left feeling stress free and rejuvenated. I cannot recommend them enough!

I had a lovely time staying at Grand Mirage Nusa Dua. This was my second stay at the hotel and it was just as wonderful as I remember. We visited originally for our honeymoon in 2019 and this time I traveled solo. This was my first solo trip since my 20s but honestly I felt so comfortable and welcome and safe - can't fault it! The rooms are well appointed, the food is excellent, the staff are gracious and so friendly and there are so many things to do around the resort, including an adults only horizon pool which is just lovely! The pool chairs do book up quickly so make sure you get to the pool early - and be warned that you cannot "save" chairs with your towel and walk away as these will be removed by staff which is fair enough I think, as if you're not there enjoying the pools you should let someone else! Special mention for Widia who always made me feel so welcome as she greeted me by name and with a big smile each breakfast and lunch. Though my stay was short (4 nights) and it rained 3 out of 4 days (it's monsoon season!) I had a wonderful, restful stay. The rain also gave me the chance to experience the services of the Thalasso Spa where Dina took very good care of me during my Seaweed Facial. I definitely recommend this resort and will definitely be returning as soon as I can. :) Read less
