Hello, From the moment we arrived at check in, the meet and greet was faantastic. The front desk and concierge were amazing. From this point our trip only got better. We were here for two weeks between the 11th and the 25th of January 2025. This was our first time with the Wild Orchid and were a little apprehensive of how good it would be considering some of the reviews we had previously read here. However, we ere blown away! The wild orchid pool is stylish with a great restaurant and an amazing pool bar. We need to give a huge shout to our amazing servers Sashonie and Tonisha!! They are such great fun and very good at their job roll, looking after both us and all the other guests!! Let's not forget Alvin. Our room was comfortable and spotless. We had a garden suite. I have never been to an all inclusive hotel that is so clean, and tidy with amazing house keeping team. The gardens are spotless & we even saw a maintenance man bleaching the paths to the beach! The entertainment was good but does repeat each week so if your here longer than a week you will seem the same shows. Our only negative was we had was the Mexican restaurant on site. This food was awful and not edible!! We even almost walked out, had it not been so late for us and we didn't want to miss the rest of the nights entertainment! We were both unwell later that night and were concerned that this had affected other guests vacations. We have to commend the French restaurant and the fish restaurant! Plus the Italian and Asian were exceptional! I couldn't recommend enough. For a long period holiday. If you say you don't like this place. Then I don't know what you expect. Read less

Currently staying at the Secrets Wild Orchid resort and decided to write this review after giving up on the queue waiting to get breakfast , again . We are currently nearly one week into what is supposed to be a relaxing holiday - so this is an insight into what you can expect if your coming here within the next month- the place is currently hosting 5000 Americans approx 800 at a time on a 5 day freebie holiday provided by a large US company. Given this if your not up and out with your towels by 6٫15 in the morning forget it you ain’t getting a sunbed , and yes I did say 6٫15 . On an evening it can be difficult to get a restaurant due to the queues , yesterday evening a couple we had met went for a meal at the Italian restaurant at 7pm , where given a buzzer to alert them when there table would be ready as they were No 36 in the queue they eventually got their meal at 9٫45 . This resort at the moment is totally just catering for the huge Yankee party which is going on. Anyone coming in February for a relaxing holiday I would suggest you see your tour operator and get a change. Contrary to a complaint I read from another guest and the reply from the management they are not addressing the situation and it would appear that we are just collateral damage. Complained to our TUI rep who seems unable/ incapable of doing anything about the situation and heard nothing. As you can imagine there was multiple other guests waiting in the queue to complain after us Jamaica itself is a lovely place and has only been spoilt by a hotel looking at there profit margins of hosting 5000 Americans at the cost of all other holidaymakers. I’m sure I’ll get a comment from the management regarding this review - make of that what you will (Hollow promises) Too any Americans reading this I can’t fault you for making the most of a 5day freebie - it’s just not what we signed up for and hold the hotel totally responsible. Where ever you end up everybody have a good holiday in Jamaica it’s a great place Read less

The entertainment was probably the best we have seen at any hotel. I would recommend Secrets Wild Orchid to anyone. My only criticisms are that the Sugar Reef swim-up bar is looking rather tired and could do with being refurbished. Also, I'm very uncomfortable with the lack of water fountains around the site. Outside of meal times, the only way to get water is to take one of the small 'single-use' plastic water bottles that are available everywhere and then throw it away. The hotel must get through thousands of them every day. There is nothing on the bottles to say they're made from recycled plastic, and nothing at the hotel to say the bottles are sorted and recycled after use. If they are, the hotel should publicise the fact, as my wife and I can't be the only people to pick up on this point and feel guilty about the amount of plastic we were forced to discard. Read less

For context, we are avid travellers in our mid/late 40’s and have travelled to multiple resorts in the Caribbean over the years (including other Secrets resorts). We are not foodies but appreciate a good meal and enjoy going out to dinner. Overall Aesthetics/Grounds/Atmosphere: 10/10 Beautiful very well manicured grounds. Zero complaints here. Probably the best part about the resort. Beach: 6/10 The view from the preferred area beach is beautiful. Great view of the mountainside. Very pretty. The beach itself is small and very rocky with lots of sea grass. Water is crystal clear though. None of the beaches (including the St James side) are very big (all are rocky with coarse sand).. don’t expect any walks along the beach here. If beach is important to you, look elsewhere. Rooms: 8/10 No complaints about the rooms except for the chairs on the balcony. Uncomfortable (scratchy hard material). Beds were okay but probably need replacing. Service: 4/10 Hit or miss. Sometimes you get smiling faces and staff willing to help. Others are downright grumpy and are always expecting a tip. We don’t tip for every single thing nor every drink either. Big improvements need to be made in this area. Two notable exceptions were our Cabana server Latonya (she was wonderful) and the lovely server we had at the Asian restaurant (her name started with an S but can’t remember). Good luck getting consistent service at the beach. They disappear for hours (even when they get tipped). Food: 5/10 Food was not great which is surprising since we have always loved the food in Jamaica. If you are a foodie you will be severely disappointed; everybody else, you’ll be able to find something somewhat decent but don’t expect anything really good. Restaurants are not open every night so plan accordingly and expect long wait times and slow service, especially at Bordeaux. Overall cleanliness: 9/10 Clean everywhere, always. Maid service was pretty good. Entertainment: 7/10 Pretty good live bands and shows but seating was usually limited - get there early. Preferred Club Benefits: 5/10 Provides access to quieter areas of the resort (the main pools are loud (music blaring most of the time))which also disrupts the adjacent main beach areas. Pools: n/a We didn’t really use them. The preferred club (Wild Orchid) pool is super small, but it’s quiet. St James preferred pool area is really nice (also quiet) - we spent one day there. In conclusion, this resort has a lot of potential and if you don’t care about food or service you can have a great time here. It certainly wasn’t awful but it’s not a 5 star (food & service) and we will not come back to this resort based on experience and tastes. Lots of other places to check out Read less
