Round Hill Hotel & Villas

The hotel

Undoubtedly one of the most sought after hotels in the Caribbean, Round Hill Hotel & Villas has been a long-standing Jamaican icon since its opening in 1953. A former pineapple estate on the outskirts of Montego Bay, what is it about Round Hill that makes it such a magnet? Round Hill is where Jacqueline and JFK spent their honeymoon, where Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the Sound of Music, where Hitchcock got sunburned and where Noel Coward, if egged on enough, would sing for the guests. Today, this elegant beachfront resort offers the same blend of qualities that has always pulled the famous names and faces; namely a well-preserved slice of old Jamaica and tremendous hospitality. You still enjoy the estates' stylish architecture and a predictably colonial pace of life, but with the added pull of an oceanfront spa, an exceptional family program and refurbished hotel rooms designed for beach living by Ralph Lauren, (perhaps whilst visiting his own villa at Round Hill) as so much more. The ocean side restaurant perfectly blends the hotel’s historic pedigree with its new energy.

Round Hill is our favorite hotel in the Caribbean. This was our second visit and it exceeded our high expectations. We've stayed in villas on both visits and they are hard to beat. We stayed at Villa 12 this time, which has a great pool and fantastic views. Our only quibble on this visit was that the evening music was a bit generic. We plan on… Read more

Round Hill is a very exclusive hotel in Montego Bay, about 25 minutes from the airport. I would recommend this for couples or groups who want to rent a villa. There is one main restaurant for dinner and there are a few bars around the resort. I liked the nature walk and seeing all the pretty flowers and trees. This place is a bit pricey and is mostly worth it. The attention to detail and personal attention were great. The yoga was challenging but good. The stretch class is not great for all levels, but good if you are in great shape with no limitations. Larry and Ottis at the bar are fantastic. Loved my wrap at the spa and afternoon tea was lovely. I went with family and everyone left happy - mostly due to the attention to detail by the manager. He was great. Read less

My husband and I got married here two weeks ago and all we and our 82+ guests can say is how amazing of a time we all had. We stayed in Cottage 10 which was legit like something out of a movie, with first class service by the entire staff, Daniel, Colleen, Joan and so many others made it feel better than home. The food as always is far superior to any resort I have been to in the Caribbean and I’m still dreaming of the filet mignon we had on our wedding day. The tea time snacks are amazing, the snapper tacos and the jerk chicken were all delicious. The timeless elegance of Round Hill is honestly one of my favorite things about the resort. The impeccable classic design and beautiful grounds makes you feel as though you are apart of the resorts rich history. And definitely splurge over at the spa where Richard will probably give you the best massage you ever had. Thank you to Josef, Leonja, and Melissa for all your help coordinating the wedding everything was so on point and you helped us create memories that will last a lifetime. We will be back soon for sure. Jamaica will always be a special place for me but Round Hill will always be home for us. Read less
