The beach experience was fabulous, except when people save beach chairs by putting a towel, and the not showing up all day. This habit should be discouraged. Food was good in some of specialty restaurants and the desserts were fantastic. I won’t soon forget the coffee crème brûlée. We had a wonderful experience in the spa. A huge shout out to Rosemarie, Odean, and another lady, sorry I can’t remember her name. All in all would go back and looking forward to see the renovations. Read less

We were traveling to Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall for a wedding so we decided to make a vacation out of it. We arrived at the resort on a Monday around noon time and were staying till the following Monday. The food at this resort is hit or miss. Italian, French and Urban Eats were good. Buffet not so good. We loved the walk up jamican jerk hut. I can tell you the pool chair saving is the worst I have ever seen and we travel 2-3 times a year many times at all-inclusives. People started saving chairs prior to 6:30am by 8am all the chairs are saved. I am an early riser so this wasn't a problem for me. I was down at the pool by 7am everyday got my 2 chairs (sun for me and shade for my husband) and sat there and read my book. But I felt bad when people would come down around 8am and there were no chairs without towels on them but no people sitting in them either. Most people would start showing up around 10-12am some didn't show up at all. One day a women had saved 25 chairs at 7am, I know because I was already sitting in my chair at this time. Someone came around 8 am and sat in one of her chairs, at 12:30 the person that the chair was saved for showed up and they started fighting, and when I say fighting yelling screaming cursing threatening I was very uncomfortable, by now the other women had been sitting in the chair for 4 hours with no one coming for it, but they show up at 12:30 and expect it to still be "saved". What was most dissappointing was the Hyatt staff made the wome who had been sitting in the chair for 4 hours leave because the chair was "saved". One other big downfall is the service, it is terrible. Especially the pool wait staff. (not the bartenders they were great). They do not want to be waiting on you, never smile, don't say thank you when tipped. Not a service oriented resort. We normally vacation in Mexico and the service is night and day. We will not go back for the service reason alone. We normally vacation in Mexico and the service is night and day. Read less

We were not too excited to leave this beautiful place and return to Narnia. This was our first time in Jamaica, so I can only compare our experience here to two other stays in the DR. When we arrived on Wednesday, Zilara's friendly staff immediately greeted us with refreshments in the lobby. Room: We stayed in a swim-up Junior Suite in Bldg 4. The water barely gets sun, so it is freezing cold. Having a pool would have been perfect in the summer. Our room is super cold, too, so A/C is not an issue. Our mini fridge is replenished daily with snacks, water, juices, and sodas. There's also a mini coffee maker that we never get to use because a little walk from our room is the cafe that serves freshly made espresso and different cakes. Our room is in the back end, so it's free from people's noise. It's so lovely to hear the birds in the morning. Food: On our first night here, we were lost on which restaurant was open and where to go. The initial check-in would have been pleasant if the guest had been adequately oriented to the place, where to eat, how to reserve, and such. They did not tell us that you simply need to scan the QR code on your room key, and you get a lot of information about the resort. We tried a different restaurant each night after finding out about the dinner reservations. My husband and I can't stop raving about the quality of food. Even Fuzion, the Asian restaurant, was impressive. We are very picky with our Japanese and Chinese food, but they nailed it! We also love the local cuisine served in the Choicez buffet; the goat curry is so divine! We didn't have to wait long before getting served on our restaurant reservations. We were satisfied with every meal served to us. If you like fruits like me, you won't be so impressed by the choices here. I recommend the Bob Marley drink, and I must warn you that they are not shy about adding alcohol here. Unlike the other all-inclusive places where the cocktails taste so watered down, not here. Ya mon! Beach: Their beachside and shoreline are not too big. There's not much space to swim and enjoy water sports. I was hoping I could do kayaking or waterboarding, but it's not possible in this area. The Zilara side has rip currents and small rocks, so we preferred swimming on the Ziva side. We got to snorkel and saw a baby sting ray and a nurse shark. We took a day trip to 7-mile beach in Negril, Sandals, and Rick’s Cafe. We are so glad we picked Montego Bay because the heat and humidity in Negril were just overbearing. We were delighted to have the cool breeze in the evenings in Hyatt. I hope this review helps because we are definitely coming back to this beautiful island and its people. Read less

The property itself is very beautiful. Between the two resorts combined there is a great selection of entertainment, bars, restaurants, pools, etc. Most of the staff were very nice but of course there are always a few people that will be rude. We loved Jamaican RootZ. I had the Ox Tail which is very unlike me and it was AMAZING! Andre was our server. He was the best. We did the street food festival at Ziva and that was excellent. The fire dancer was great! The interior of the buildings could use some love but in all honesty that's not abnormal in the Caribbean. I would suggest this resort and will hopefully go back in the future! Read less

The food portions are small but delicious. Our only complaint was the music, it was super loud. The first night we were there they had a pool party, the Euro Techno was not our thing, but it was so loud we couldnt sleep…all day it played by the pool . The clientele all around us did not seem to like it either. It seems the marketing department that makes decisions about what the guests would like are not reading the crowd correctly. If not for the music we couldn’t get away from because of the volume we would go back… but the music was a deal killer! A shame as everything else was so great!!! Read less
