Arrived at the hotel on January 20th 2025 and booked a room for 2 nights. Even though my transaction was completed around 14:15 my room wasn't ready until 15:55. I was assigned room 111, after entering the room I noticed some discoloration on the floor under the air con unit. I thought that this was some spilled liquid until housekeeping informed me that it a chemical spill that happened when the unit was being repaired. It was about 10 minutes after switching it on I realised that the unit wasn't blowing any cold air. I made a report to reception went to the beach. When I returned to the room it still wasn't working I made another report to reception but no one was sent to look at the faulty unit. I had dinner and returned to my room the air con unit was still faulty, This was around 8:30pm so I went to reception again and someone came to look at the unit, he said that he put some gas in the unit and I should give it 24 hrs which is BS. If you put gas in the unit the effects should be felt straight away. During the course of the following day I made 3 more reports about the unit and on the third occasion someone came to look on the unit and said he would be back, I waited but no one returned, At this point even if I was given another room it would have been pointless as I was only staying for 2 nights. The reception staff seemed to adopted a nonchalant attitude to my concerns even though I was polite towards them. Judging my the staining on the floor they must have knew that the air con unit in room 111 was faulty but they allocated it to me anyway without any concern for my health and safety. The ceiling fan made no difference to the comfort of the room. When I was preparing to check out on Jan 22nd I had to stop several times because of the sweat dripping in my eyes. Even though I was checked in almost an hour late I made sure to check out before 12pm to avoid any additional charges. Read less

When we booked the DeCameron, we saw the mixed reviews about the property but due to the location, we decided to book it and I’m glad we did. Yes the hotel is in need of a facelift? When we booked the DeCameron, we saw the mixed reviews about the property but due to the location, we decided to book it and I’m glad we did. Yes the hotel is in need of a facelift? Which as I type, works started on renovating the lobby, new bathrooms and air conditioning units. At the end of the day, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, it’s just somewhere to lay your head and store your stuff. The staff are extremely friendly (shout out to Sweetness), the first person we met in the gym, she amongst others (Erin and Energy in the entertainment team, Damien the lifeguard Marcus the excursions team, the bartender who has our drinks ready as we approached the bar) made our stay. These guys give everything to make sure people have a great stay. Yes, some can be having a bad day and know about it, but who doesn’t have a bad day once in a while? Read less

The good: A/C worked well and housekeeping came daily (although they took our both bars of soap we had on the second day and didn't replaced them, so we had to go to the desk and get more so we could shower). Bartenders were decent and usually served us in a reasonable amount of time. The beach was pretty nice and pool seemed clean. Entertainment… Read more
The good: A/C worked well and housekeeping came daily (although they took our both bars of soap we had on the second day and didn't replaced them, so we had to go to the desk and get more so we could shower). Bartenders were decent and usually served us in a reasonable amount of time. The beach was pretty nice and pool seemed clean. Entertainment at night was good. The bad: EVERYTHING else. 90% of the staff are miserable and down right rude. If they even acknowledge you, you are almost scared to ask for something. We were told we couldn't have food anywhere but at our table in the restaurant. I even asked if I could take something from the snack bar, back to the main buffet so I could sit with my family.. Nope, not happening. Immediately after our large family arrived, we were approached by a security person and told we needed to stop standing and talking near the snack bar?! No explanation as to why, just "you need to move along". Food was horrible, I think I lost weight on this trip. I got sick on our second day from eating a hamburger at the snack bar and other people in our group also had stomach issues throughout our stay. If you are lucky enough to get a glass of water filled, that's it.. If you want a refill, you have to ask for it or go find the pitcher to refill yourself, because, trust me, they aren't going to ask if you want more. Same goes for a cup of coffee. One morning, a member of our family had to get up and go ask for coffee and he was told, yes, but you need to go sit down?!! He was stunned and told her to not speak to him like that, he was perfectly respectful to her and there was no call for that. It's like being treated like children vs. a PAYING GUEST at an all inclusive resort. Pool towels are limited and you usually end up having to use the same dirty ones for days because there are no clean ones to exchange them with. Rooms are in horrible condition and beds are old/nasty and super uncomfortable with sheets that don't fit the bed, so you are constantly trying to keep them on the mattress and from bunching up. We were given one key for the two of us and told they didn't have another one. There was a mini-fridge in our room, but nothing in it, no water, beers, nothing. For several days, we had maintenance/construction people right outside our room working on something, yelling at each other, banging, drilling, hammering stuff... so forget relaxing in the room if you wanted to take a break from the heat and get some A/C. When you are outside, anywhere on the property, you will have to breathe non-stop cigarette and marijuana smoke. They say they have designated smoking areas, but that is a complete joke and not enforced. I've never been so happy to be back home, in my own bed. I would NEVER even think about going back to this place. Pay attention to all the other bad reviews, they aren't making this stuff up. Read less

We were there 1/10-1/15. The staff was extremely friendly. The resort is older, needs updating but for the price it was ok. There was a few nights we were told there were no more forks & given spoons. There were days no beach towels were available & had to use the same ones. To get to the beach you have to go to the property next door. By 7a there are no lounge chairs left, everyone puts towels & leaves to have breakfast. Entertainment at night was perfect. There is 1 restaurant on site you have to make reservations for & the food was terrible. We ended up going across the street to a Jamaican restaurant a few times to buy food. I personally wish I had booked the resort next door, it was much nicer! Read less

New years was excellent food and entertainment and drinks. If you tip the bartender they were amazing, They put us in a room almost every night there was loud music coming from the street. Front desk only wanted to give one key for the room for 2 people. Food ran out many times had to wait. Must go early. Many days no fork, spoon had to wait. Pool towel have to keep for the entire 11 days otherwise you will not get one, Housekeeping very poor. Some days were given towels other days had to wait. Beds were just made no clean sheets everyday, Food at the snack bar was terrible most time. Long wait time to get the food. A la cart what a joke. Food was terrible, service was not good. Just provided our main dish nothing else. Other folks were offer soup and a small buffet. Marcus was amazing for tour. I would not recommend the place until they do a renovation or discount the amount you pay. We were never compensation and we pay full price. Read less
