We had an amazing holiday at Sugar Bay. Our room overlooked the seafront with beautiful views. The food selection was plentiful and varied to cover all needs. As mentioned in other reviews, all staff were helpful, kind and courteous so it would be unfair to mention any by name. The concierge was very helpful in organising trips and taxis. The… Read more

Room cleaned each day with fresh towels etc. Again 4 options for food on site. Reef is the buffet option. Plenty of choice with different themed options in the evening. UMI was good but perhaps could do with a menu revamp. Same choices since last time. Sizzle steakhouse again with an unchanged menu however the steaks are outstanding. Can be very warm here. Colin beach bar serves burgers and daily specials...nice for a change. No real issues with loungers but people do hog them for long periods without actually using...the addition of full length towelling on the loungers at the pool is great. The beach has been affected by the summer storm and I would advise beech shoes for entering the sea. The two available bars are fine and unlike an earlier post I never saw people being encouraged to partake in drinking games or do shots.....you want a drink the team make you a drink. Again the staff really make the stay memorable, too many to mention but I have to say Cherese, Kay, Javan, Davashni and the boss Pedro all run the restaurants brilliantly. David, Damien and Antonio work tirelessly at the hotel bars. Well done all. Will return as will most of our new friends as its just that little bit better than most. Read less

Booked this on whim for my daughter’s birthday, a group of 7 with a baby. Sugar bay is about half hour from the airport and we had the best taxi driver who offered us beer or a soft drink on pick up. Check in was a bit busy but the staff were really friendly and helpful. Wrist bands were no chunky and ugly unlike other resorts, which was great and no tan lines! They were the room key too so no losing or having to hunt for a key in your bag. Rooms were clean and a good size, decorated lovely with a good shower. They even provided a baby bath for the baby! The cot was very old fashioned and metal but comfy. Pool area is nice and clean, comfy beds and extra towels on the beds as well as the ones from your room. You have to get up early to get a bed by the pool though. Breakfast was nice, seating outside or undercover. Not huge variety but enough. Too much can be very overwhelming. The beach bar is ok, David is an absolute legend! Hilarious, though one person took him too seriously and took offence, to which non was meant. He mAde our stay! Service is chilled and not fast, typical chilled Caribbean way. Beach is nice, clean with lots of beds. Sea is lovely and warm, but rocky at parts, has floating circular beds to chill on which is a nice addition. Lunch was at the beach bar - brilliant food and service! The girls and guys work so hard and really friendly! One got us some bottles hot sauce that they served at the hotel which we loved, I cannot remember her name but she really did go above and beyond to get them for us. Japanese restaurant is lovely. Food is nice. The steakhouse not so much. Not a lot of choice. Food not so great. Dinner and lunch in the reef, very much like breakfast- not huge variety but enough and decent. Blush cafe is on the property and very pretty. Gym was good, small but does the job. Walked to Bridgetown - took half hour and an easy walk. Carlisle bay for the turtles is 15/20 minutes walk and the race horses washed I the sea are 10 minute easy walk to pebble beach. Make sure you get there before 6am or it gets very busy. Race course is a 2 minute walk. Over all a very nice hotel and would come back Read less
