The hotel

Oozing island charm, this bijou beauty has just 79 rooms but packs in plenty of reasons as to why it deserves a visit. Inspired by its stunning waterfront location, just a stroll from the heart of St Lawrence Gap with its great bars, restaurants and nightlife, Rostrevor Apartment Hotel features just enough turquoise touches to remind you the ocean’s right outside — in fact, every guest room looks out over it. If you want to get even closer, the swimming pool sits a few mere metres from the ocean, on a bluff-like perch that creates absorbing views as you swim and sunbathe. An equally alluring sunbathing spot, the secluded sands of Rostrevor Beach fringe the hotel. The pool’s paired with one of the hotel’s two eateries, the Almond Tree Pool Bar, so you can dine in casual comfort during the day, before heading to the other restaurant, The Harlequin, for International food with Caribbean flair for a delicious evening meal.

Id only booked flights 3 weeks before and needed accommodation. The website said they were full but I emailed on the off chance and they had had a cancellation and offered us a deluxe room. Check in was simple and the receptionist friendly. The room was lovely and the view to die for but looking at the rest of the hotel I’m glad we were in the deluxe block which is also slightly further away from the noisy bar on the strip. We could hear the music at night but when we opened the door to the balcony we could only hear the sea. It was lovely. We unpacked and went down to the pool bar for a drink. It was very busy and all the sunbeds were taken. The whole area seemed a bit tired and lots of concrete. The pool was raised but doesn’t look it on the photos. That was the last we saw if the hotel ( except for our room ) until we checked out. We just spent our time on the beautiful beaches. If we return to Barbados we would chose a different hotel but we were grateful they could fit us in at such short notice Read less

We stayed at the Rostrevor for 7 nights in early January. Our room was a pool deck room and opened up onto a fairly large terrace next door to the bar and looking straight out to sea. The room was large and had everything you needed in terms of fridge, TV, kettle, iron and ironing board and even a cooker and microwave. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping staff kept it very clean. But the bathroom was tiny and in dire need of an update, it also had a window that had no glass into some kind of storage room that the hotel staff used day and night so it was very noisy. We also had very very noisy neighbours who got up at 0600 everyday and sat on their terrace talking and playing the radio, not the hotels fault at all but spoiled our stay somewhat. There was never an issue getting a sun bed, the double bed cabanas were rarely used but that was because they were so grubby I don’t think anyone wanted to sit on them, the cushions need a good wash. Location wise it’s perfect if you want to be in the middle of all of the action as it’s right in the middle of the main drag of bars and restaurants but that does mean it’s noisy at nights, twice we could hear music until gone 3am. Would we return? Probably not, it wasn’t terrible and we enjoyed our week in St Lawrence but we would probably chose a different hotel if we returned. Read less

What fantastic hotel this is, how it’s only rated 3 stars I will never know. The rooms were spotless clean and the staff went above and beyond. Thoroughly enjoyed our stayed and would definitely recommend to couples and families alike. Our room was very spacious and had the luxury of sea view

Staued in a delusion ocean front sudio with my mum - the apartment was large and bright, useful kitchenette area and large bathroom. The patio doors opened on to its own terrace area with further grass frontage. We had approx 12 steps down to the pool and the in house cafe which served great food Nothing to complain about - loved it
