The hotel

Everyday is paradise when you wake up with views of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in the Bahamas. With over 5000 square miles of beaches, pools, and bars to explore, this is your ultimate destination within a destination. It’s perfect for families, with spacious suites to accommodate you all together, some even with full kitchens for those nights when you want to eat dinner alone on the balcony. The activities on offer are never ending, the water park being the pick of the bunch – and we know you’ll love the slides just as much as the little ones really! There’s also an entertainment centre to keep them occupied, with games, bowling and a movie theatre, so you can relax in the spa or grab a frozen margarita from the beachfront bar and watch the cruise ships coming in and out of Nassau. Make sure you grab a spot at the rooftop bar in time for the sunset, definitely an instagram-able moment.

We highly recommend this resort to any and all! Our family of five absolutely loved everything about this resort. 3 kids aged 6-11. We booked the 2 bedroom marina suite with a pull out couch in the living room. There was more than enough room for us. The view was like no other, and the suite was virtually soundproof from the outside world. Housekeeping completed an immaculate job every day. We booked the all inclusive package. This package was worth every penny, and took any stress away of having to bring money to the pool area, to suppers, to the beach, etc. The food and drink were exceptional. Each restaurant offers something for everyone: pizza & pasta, sushi, local dishes, fresh seafood, ice cream, bakery items, lunch choices at the pool. We have absolutely zero complaints. The resort grounds are exceedingly clean. There are so many garbage cans around the pool deck, and at each elevator stop inside. The staff take extreme care of the entire property including the beach area. We spent lots of hours at the resort guest only beach area. We brought our own snorkel gear and found lots of marine life! Our only word of caution: the waterpark signs indicate the lifeguards are present 830am onwards and the waterpark opens at the time. Unfortunately, the lifeguards actually arrive at 10am therefore guests cannot use the water slides, cliff jumping and flowrider until that time. Keross was an absolute beauty. He was the flowrider (wave rider machine with body boards) lifeguard for the majority of the days we were at the resort. Keross was patient and knowledgeable with all the kids trying out the flowrider. He took time to explain how to have the most fun on the flowrider, and demonstrated his incredible surf skills. Manny the recreation director was very professional and helpful. Once we told him of the amazing customer service from Keross, Manny ensured Keross was recognized by his supervisor and relayed our words of praise. This meant a lot to us. To and from the resort, we taxied without concern. We also walked around the town almost every night, and felt safe doing so. In summary, we have absolutely no complaints about this resort. Our kids are asking to book another visit! Read less

Pro's: Superb location near main Nassau; great selection of diverse water activities; wonderful cyber price; fun lobby with guests and bartenders; very limited guests present as slow season. Outstanding Spa massage. Con's: As others noted - limited low-end wine options; one drink of preferred Jameson liquor not replenished throughout stay; Staff service efficient but not friendly; floor vending machine and restaurant restroom soap empty; one Perk gift not provided despite asking. Once you go to Bahamar, you would never want to go to Margaritaville. The beach is terrible and shared with 5000 cruise ship passengers. While they are at the public beach a stones throw next to you, they can and do buy day passes. We didn't even use the "water park". It is a total let down compared to Bahamar or Atlantis. While they are at the public beach a stones throw next to you, they can and do buy day passes. We didn't even use the "water park". It is a total let down compared to Bahamar or Atlantis. If you must go here, stay at the Margaritaville Residences. The condo rooms are epic. You share a "private" beach with the neighboring hotel....and the 1000 people who buy day passes from the 6 ships docked off shore. If you love cruise ships, you would LOVE this place. Also, downtown Nassau is nasty. While the food prices are certainly cheaper than Bahamar, the whole scene just sucks in comparison. Positives. Looks pretty when ships are gone...The staff were outstanding, that's for sure. Read less
