Mixed feelings about what could be a great hotel

Here now. Hotel is nice not too big and pleasant grounds. Room huge, bathroom a little tired but clean. Housekeeping very good. However these are my gripes: Restaurants not great so far. Booking easy through the App. However still have to wait to be seated despite booking a time. Food ok but portions small. Food not that hot and everything is well done Breakfast is shambolic, not enough staff to clear tables for new arrivals. Today, no bacon, pre-cooked eggs or beans. Long queue to be seated. My main complaint about this hotel is the total lack of quiet areas. Daytime on beach there is constant noise from the vibe team in the pool area. Fine if you want it but not if you want to read a book. From 11am there is a constant commentary and music which renders it impossible to relax. There is no area you can get away from it. Diamond club have quietest area on the beach but I shouldn’t have to pay extra for some peace. Evenings are similar. Lovely to sit in main bar area early evening until the film show starts - whether anyone is watching it or not! Then there’s the nighttime entertainment- you can’t get away from it - and believe me it’s so noisy you want to get away. But there’s no where to go other than your balcony. Another thing that seems to be a whole site issue is constant problems with the toilets. One day I had to go from one end of the resort to the other to find a toilet not closed or blocked. Overall a nice hotel with some good features but also many bad. Not luxury. The Royalton in Grenada is much much better. Sad as it’s not cheap and could be so much better. Read less

We would rate our butlers 5. The rooms and the hotel grounds are beautiful. There are certain issues that we have had with restaurants and beach chairs. The entertainment has been enjoyable. The restaurants need a little more diversity, including possibly specials daily and maybe a seafood restaurant and Asian restaurant The beach chair mats need to be replaced as most are torn. Many times the restaurants were out of items on the menu, including things like bananas, strip steak and other items. The drinks were always delicious and plentiful. Some of the public bathroom doors did not lock. Some of them had no water at the sink. And some of the toilets were clogged. in addition, we were given an experience discount book and the circumnavigate boat tour would not provide us with the $10 off. They indicated we had to mention that at sign up. We did that and were told to pay at the time of the trip and get the discount. we did mention this to the concierge and have heard nothing further. Once attention is paid to some of these small details, we would give the entire resort, a 10. Read less

As a first time Royalton Diamond guest I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy the butler experience, but actually, having been looked after so incredibly well by Coniah and Marcus, I wouldn't want any other holiday! It's not just attention to detail, the way they both work tirelessly to attend every little need, it's the ability to get to know and understand their guests in order to be able to ensure their stay is perfect, and the guest feels valued, pampered, relaxed and happy. They are both incredibly busy, always on their feet dealing with multiple tasks, yet nothing is too much effort and every guest is treated like royalty. If you are considering whether the Diamond Club is worth the extra cost, yes it absolutely is. From the moment of arrival till the last goodbye, every need is catered for and all there is left to do is relax and enjoy the resort. Titi (Nefertari) in Entertainments must be mentioned too as she demonstrated boundless enthusiasm and a warm and friendly attitude every day, informing guests of shows and activities throughout so noone missed out. Overall I can honestly say, my holiday was what it should be, a relaxing, enjoyable break, and that is thanks to Marcus and Coniah. Needless to say, I will definitely be back! Read less

Spent 10 days here. The resort is lovely grounds well maintained. the beach is beautiful. the staff friendly and helpful always with a smile. Food was great at all venues.
