The hotel

In mid Montreal’s entertainment quarter, this elegant hotel is filled with treats to distract you from its enticing urban surroundings. Dip in its indoor pool – a glorious sunken space flooded with light from the glazed ceiling and steps from an al fresco ‘terrace with a view’. There’s a second terrace at Bivouac, serving up views over Quartier des Spectacles. Of course, it’s the location you came for – and Doubletree by Hilton Montreal delivers it. Connected to Complexe Desjardins, it gives almost instant access to more than 100 shops and eateries, and to a subway station for city sightseeing. I had the absolute worst experience at any hotel. I am a Hilton Diamond member and I booked my room at the Hilton Doubleteree Montreal about one month before arrival on January 18. The hotel advertises valet parking and an Executive lounge. I arrived after a 6 hour drive at about 3:30 PM. I was told valet was full and to go look for parking on P1/P2 in Desjardins. I checked in where I was told the lounge was closed for cleaning – never mentioned on the website and it was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. I went back out to look for parking. After driving around in extreme traffic with hundreds of others looking for parking in the Desjardin garage– I found none and they closed the garage. I was then told to look for parking a various parking lots a block and a few blocks away – none. At 5:30 PM I gave up and checked out and ended up at the Hilton Laval. It is unconscionable that this hotel would not ensure parking for its guests. It is in a very nice location but if you have a car DO NOT SAY HERE!!!! Read less

Was on vacation with my kids. The pool was a bit cild. However the overall stay was perfect. The agent who did our check-in did contribuate to a good start of our little trip to montreal. Thumbs up to him. The goodie bag was definitely a plus

From check-in to our room, our experience was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed Bivouac. The scallop appetizer, beet salad, and lamb shank were exceptional. A special shout-out to Jin, who, despite being busy at the bar, provided outstanding service with a friendly and accommodating attitude

We arrived early so our room wasn’t ready which is fine, but when asked if they could call me, they said they couldn’t. Instead they suggested I call in a couple hours, however when I called later on several times, no one answered the phones. The front desk reception was not very friendly or accommodating either. I asked for late check out, was told I couldn’t because they were very busy, then they finally said 11:30. When I explained that my son is autistic and I was travelling on my own with him and needed the extra hour to get us breakfast and pack us up, the receptionist said the best she could do was 12:00 and then she would have to charge us. She was not very friendly and it felt like she did not want to help us rather than they were busy. And the room itself was very basic, bathroom was small and there was mildew in the shower. Read less
