Stunning surroundings as to be expected. I grabbed something for breakfast and a coffee as I had arrived on the early shuttle bus. You do pay more for this than you would otherwise, but actually with the view and relaxing, it was well worth it. There is also a gift shop, some information areas and very clean toilets. For those who are staying guests, the areas where "non residents" couldn't go were very clearly defined, which I think is very fair at the prices paid. Read less

Ok, this isn't a newsflash. This is everything, people say or think it is, and then some. We had an updated 2-bedroom suite.... the room was absolutely gorgeous. We also had breakfast included, and everything from the pancakes to the eggs benedict was so tasty. The lobby has a bunch of shops, and 5 different restaurants. If you can't find it in… Read more

If you can't find it in the lobby, you probably can't find it in Canada. The concierge team was great, as was as the bell service folks. Our favorite place was the Lake View Lounge for yummy hot chocolate and Mulled wine. The bartenders were so friendly, interacted with guests, made it fun to sit at the bar and look at the beautiful lake and mountains. A must stay, visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Read less

This is the most uninviting, pretentious hotel I've ever stepped into...and I've traveled to 65 countries around the globe and stayed in some of the most exclusive hotels in the world. Our family stopped at the hotel where we had reserved a horse-drawn carriage ride along the lake in the winter. We checked in for our ride at the service desk at the hotel and when I asked where the restroom was before we got on the sleigh ride, I was told I would have to walk 7 minutes (each way) in the freezing cold to the non-guest parking lot and use the public bathroom. They said all hotel bathrooms were only for guests. Once I hauled my kids down to the parking lot, used the restroom, and came back we had almost missed our sleigh ride. After the sleigh ride, we went into the hotel to get some hot drinks to warm up and appetizers and we were again told that there was no restroom inside the hotel for bar patrons unless you were staying at the hotel. By this point we had spent $350 at the hotel in less than three hours, but we weren't allowed to use a restroom inside the hotel. This made my decision clear...I would never stay at this hotel. Honestly, this hotel gives Canadians a bad reputation because the staff are trained to be the opposite of the Canadian spirit of being kind and polite. The rest of our Candian holiday was amazing OUTSIDE of this hotel experience. Read less

Spent 6 nights over the Christmas period. Quite honestly, the happiest holiday we’ve ever had. The combination of staff, location and the hotel itself created one of our most precious holidays ever. Highly recommend the Lake View rooms. It’s worth the extra! The service was always excellent. From housekeeping, to dining to reception. Everyone was warm and welcoming. We visited over the festive period. The Fairmont truly know how to celebrate Christmas. Carols, s’mores, decorating cookies/ginerbread houses. Even having 6 nights was not enough to get through everything. Honestly, if you only have one vacation, you must include this hotel. Read less
