A home away from home? This is that and more. With a sophisticated, sleek interior that’s infused with South African vibrancy, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the city – just opposite the Convention Centre if you’re here for business, but also just steps from bars, restaurants and attractions if you’re here for fun. Whichever room type you pick you’ll find yourself with ample space, and a fully equipped kitchenette to cook up a storm. Whilst you’ll feel like you’re in your own apartment, the concierge are on hand downstairs for whatever you need. And if you don’t feel like using your own facilities, the Asian tapas restaurant on the ground floor is definitely worth a visit. And if you fancy an aperitif, head up to the 4th floor to enjoy a cocktail with stunning views of Table Mountain. Of course you’ll also have to find time in your schedule for a dip in the pool which has both indoor and outdoor sections – perfect whatever the weather! And we haven’t even mentioned the spa…

The breakfast taken in the MKT adjacent cafe was excellent and served by lovely staff. It was also worth dining in the Asian Fusion/Sushi restaurant attached to the hotel. The only issue was the small bar run by a single barman who was rushed off his feet! All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful during our stay. Read less

I was in the 1-Bed Deluxe (with Balcony), and I could see the Table Mountain from my balcony. The front desk staff Andre and Mpumbi were great. The breakfast staff were friendly. The room was spacious and the kitchen was well appointed. Would definitely stay again when in Cape Town.
Clean and excellent staff

With this experience in mind, I believe that an independent tourist should look elsewhere for a bed to avoid the high risk of being detained, robbed and defrauded at any time and anywhere at ATM machines in the area. To be noted : If your bank card does not work at the hotel dispenser, the only other indoor ATM accessible to us, in the neighborhood, had been located in the Cape Town International Convention Centre. However, how often the Centre is open, I don't know. Also, the apartment we had at the Onyx was so poorly equipped that the only food preparation we could do in there was making cheese sandwiches for lunch and a pasta with bottled spaghetti sauce for dinner. Not what we had had in mind! However, it is location, location, location....... Read less

Our stay at the Onyx in cape town was incredible! The location was great: it was right next to the CTICC, and was located in a very trendy/safe area. It was also close to table mountain, and our rooms had a great view of it from our windows. The rooms are equipped as studio apartments, with all the necessary amenities. The tv provided access to all streaming channels. the staff were very friendly and efficient, and made this stay enjoyable. The best thing were the hotel restaurants: the MRKT, were we had our breakfast provided both a la carte and buffet options, with fresh ingredients, many health options, and great coffee! and Yu, which was a more high-end restaurant with great dishes. The 4th floor terrace was a great place to hang out and relax, we used the spa there and had an incredible massage. Would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting cape town :) Read less
