The hotel

Notable for its impressive tower, this hotel's style has been borrowed from the best ideas of classical architecture. The lobby is particularly impressive with its marble columns, bronze sculptures and huge picture windows leading out on to the pool, surrounded by an attractive terrace with neo-classical colonnade. The room was clean, spacious, and had a very comfortable bed. Fridge and safe in the room. Nice fitness room, pool, and the most amazing breakfast ever! Made to order omelettes, cappuccino, fruit, nuts, muffins… everything!! Friendly staff and fresh infused water in the lobby 24/7

The overriding memory of our stay at this hotel was the inordinate time spent queuing, firstly to check and then having to return a second time to collect our room key as rooms were not available at the time of arrival. In both of these instances we waited more than 20 minutes. Things weren’t much better when it came to check out. The hotel was obviously operating at near capacity and staff were struggling to cope! Not the greatest room, difficult to use our electrical adapters in the wall plugs, a bit of initiative was required to keep them plugged in. Amazingly there are no USB plugs, which is surprising in this day and age. Getting water and particularly soap for our room was particularly challenging. The pool is very small for the size of the hotel and it was difficult to get a sun bed. On a more positive note, the staff were always extremely friendly and professional, even though they seemed overwhelmed. The shuttle to/from the Waterfront was excellent. It was a bonus that cold drinks and snacks were always available in the lobby. Read less

5 star rating. Staff are friendly and well trained. It's my home away from home.. The GM Jacques is an amazing leader. I would like to recommend Jacques to his management for an award of the best customer experience. Loved every minute of my stay.

I spoke with a manager and they promised me that after my stay, the general manager will be in touch with me to solve the issues and it didn't happen. I am also a Southern sun member. In most 4-5* hotels if issues arise, they usually credit some points-credits in member's accounts but in this case, they are not interested in taking responsibility and solve the several issues I found in my stay. Sonwaabise was excellent on check in. A gem to keep in your business. Thank you great service indeed. The room was recleaned when I highlighted some issues to be spotless. Really love staying at Cullinan. Will definitely recommend to friends and family😍👍
